@TomDivon Thank you for this brilliant account! I completely agree on the overall discussion of what it means to work in a foreign language. There's so much hidden and emotional labour (the one that sociologists usually investigate in other populations).

4/4 It's written in Italian, so non-Italian speakers probably can't understand most of what is in it. However, if you are interested, I am happy to discuss it and provide you with some material about it in English.

2/4 This volume examines the everyday relationships we develop with algorithmic media at the sociological level. There is a substantial literature review about the implications of digital platforms and two empirical studies about university students and healthcare professionals.

Last week I participated in the midterm @newsAIS conference at @unisalento 🧭 I presented a contribution about nurses and emotional labour at the #ForumAISGiovani and then one about co-design and critical algorithm studies for @Pe8Age_It πŸ“˜ It was a nice one!

It was a pleasure to present at the Spoke 5 Conference, @Pe8Age_It project. It was a great opportunity to reflect about the sustainability of care systems in our country. πŸ‘£ In the pics, two versions of me explaining critical theory with the help of various gestures. 🀌🏻

#ESA2024 was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. I'm really happy about my presentation about the @Pe8Age_It project and the time spent hanging out with with friends and colleagues. Thanks to @ESA_Sociology and the organizers at @UPorto for this great event πŸ“š

Another great news after the #oasisreunion. Veronica Moretti and I have been published on Social Science and Medicine. In this article, we investigate the emotional ambiguities of healthcare professionals' platform experiences and their relationship with emotional labour. Enjoy!
