I get a lot requests from Indian founders to review their YC applications. One major thing I notice is "Essays" for most questions. If i don't have the time to read them, YC definitely doesn't. They only spend 15-20 secs per application. Keep it concise. 2-3 lines max per answer.

I’m at this AI event and Indian startups talking about LLMs from India should be launched soon to “compete”. This is amazing BUT why do we Indians need to wake up only because China built something for a fraction of the cost. OpenAI released O1 in September last year which Deepseek ripped off. At that time nobody wanted to build an LLM? You only become the best by focusing on competing with the cream of cream. We need to develop a leadership attitude , not a follow one. The west understands this and talented Indian entrepreneurs that want to lead and innovate and grabbed by the West.

India’s Finance ministry provided a significant tax relief by enabling 0 tax until Rs. 12.75 LPA and potentially pushing India towards being Income Tax free. Ofcourse there are many not happy with it but isn’t it like 85-90% of the country earns below 12LPA? That’s huge! If this is not the best Income Tax relief given by the govt to the huge majority of India, then I don’t know what is.

I wouldn’t trust the deepseek API with any data. It’s best to download the model since it open source and run it locally. No censorship.

Ross Ulbricht is FREE after 11 Years. Trump kept his word. All hope was lost for Ross. He was facing 2 lifetimes in prison. Can’t imagine what he and his family are feeling right now. Miracles do happen. If it wasn’t for the Bitcoin community, this would have been impossible.
