Here’s a better explanation: The Delta variant was already widespread long before DOH detected it, and even after seeing the numbers, DOH refused to acknowledge the inevitable surge and their failure to (Surprise! Surprise!) act early.

Philippine General Hospital, the national university hospital, will stop admitting non-COVID patients. Outpatient clinics and services will be closed. Elective surgeries will be reduced. We are reopening COVID wards, with more beds for kids. This did not need to happen. 😢
