Nope. It's fair for us politically to have us represented by the closest preferred candidate. Popularity does not give the best candidate ever. Easily influenced and swayed. I like my 1st vote to be the person I believe best represents my briefs and then my second choice to someone who I prefer the best of the worst that represents most of what I believe and I can vote the least, last. (always the Greens). This is also data. It should guide the elected candidate to understand what their community is like and in theory should represent us all with understanding.

Yeah, we'e also paid off our cars and actually drive very little (30km return to work and I work from home), that additionally doesn't justify the extra cost at the moment. Wife is in health so can do it via then, but the numbers don't tip things over yet. I've got 4wd, so hopefully a CT one day as it's replacement, haha. Agl plan is reasonable though, but I'm on 11c feed in so once I lose that I'll probably move. (I've got a 13kw system, so pump 50+ kw to the grid).
