Despite the strike, that still puts @Scripps_Ocean grad student wages at less than $38k a year in one of the most expensive cities in the US. The @WHOI salary is ~$45k. How many students with an offer at both would choose to make $7k less a year?
@DrVasshe At the recent faculty meeting we were told that in April GSR salaries go up 2%, and a further 6% six months later. What happens to TAs was less clear. The email I saw (not sent to me) was alluded to, suggesting it had gone to the dept chair, and will reach us peons eventually.
