@Cionnai1 It's the usual hard of thinking something must be done, this is something approach to column writing. The issue is one of governing, a Housing Czar won't solve issues the office of the Taoiseach can't solve. Martin and Browne have to do this by governing.

@ShaneCostello10 @Clearpreso Yeah, I was focusing specifically on the comparison to the mine (tax & welfare). Driving license is efficient too. Overall, airports are good, roads good, cities (ex Dublin) look well etc

@Clearpreso No, of course not, I was drawing a comparison to what we do well. The health service stands out as a glaring beacon of waste. Others some quite prone to unfortunate incidents…

@Rreesrugby @c_kirwan @thepaulwilliams I’d wait until the accounts are filed to understand what that means. She is commercially savvy so I imagine conditions were built into the contract with flexible reviews on both sides. Otherwise settlement is a particular phrasing that could be broader that it might appear.

@simonrug @the_gurleyboy They went behind a paywall and have lost most of their best talent to other media. Ignore, it’s garbage. Used to listen 7 days a week, haven’t listened to it since it went behind the paywall. It’s total garbage.

@simonrug Look OTB is Ireland’s talksport. It’s all mouth and it’s not what real followers of rugby think or want to convey. I’m sad for Welsh rugby, met loads of great rugby people from wales and it’s unIrish to kick a team while they are down. We don’t like arrogance as a rule.

@GavanCasey one point for your pod is whether France sending second string teams on summer tours for years now means their top players lack exposure to hard away games against strong teams. Are they being tested enough away from France, often enough?

@Clearpreso @courtsnewsIRL This always sounds a bit more dramatic than the reality and the numbers end up clouding admin ones like bench warrants or lesser charges that carry no consecutive (or any) penalty. What I want to know is how many serious crimes they've committed. If it's more than 2, bye bye.

@NoonanAj @HughGillanders Cowen did but many of those decisions related to earlier ones he made when finance minister so he can’t really be divorced from the consequences of his earlier actions.

@shaneoleary1 That’s what’s known as the yuppie Nuremberg defence. It’s an entirely legitimate question and if you are willing to work for the Chinese communist party for example, then that’s a choice. Same with Google, Meta etc.

@TheStingisBack @hew144 She plays the bells - I saw her play a concert in Hook lighthouse (the oldest in the world) a few years ago. She had written a series of tunes about lighthouses. I’d never seen somebody play bells before in alt-folk music. Husband played electric guitar. Great singing voice.

@RMcGreevy1301 @declanganley RTÉ is being bailed out to the tune of 700m. All this funding is on top of all the state funded advertising in tv, radio and print which is also propping up legacy media channels. Irish times group is accepting it via your other title in cork.

@ShaneCostello10 Bergamo is a dream of a weekend break location. Airport is really close. 3 days plenty and stay is the upper city. We combined with the opera in Verona in July. Nice restaurant at the top of the third funicular.
