How would you grade Ryan Smith? Personally, I think he’s been pretty damn good. KJZZ and Jazz+ are awesome. Danny was a good hire. He seems like he would spend $ for good players. Bringing is a hockey team. The only think I knock is the unnecessary re-brand.

Watch Kessler on this clutch possession. He stops Anderson from taking a shot at the rim, then he stops Edwards from taking a shot at the rim (off of a great instinctual rotation), then he stops Edwards again from attempting a shot. He’s good at the intangibles too.

@KevinOConnorNBA Clippers spread the floor 5 out exactly because Rudy is so great. They had to change their entire offensive scheme to make him obsolete. It only worked because no Jazz players could stay in front of their man. Rudy had to guard the paint, then run out to whoever was open from 3.

Honestly, I watch sports for the drama. Sexton picking up John Collins when he was down, building him up during the free throws was my absolute favorite part of last night. Corny AF, but a boring blow out win wouldn’t have inspired me near as much as how the Jazz ended that game.

Guess what? I believe in moral victories. Durant was insane. George looked sooo good, especially for a rookie. Ochai played incredibly tough. The Suns shot 54% from 3. I feel way better about this team right now.

Present day Collin Sexton is already better than the ceiling of any of the Jazz newer pieces. It’s baffling to me that the discussion is always about “where does he fit in the future?”. We’d be lucky if the new guys ever get as good, so maybe we should be more concerned with that.

Honestly guys, I’m doubtful the Jazz win a championship in the next 10 years, or maybe even ever. It’s incredibly hard to win it all. IMO the most sane approach is to just cheer for your team, follow the story lines, and enjoy the fact that we have a pro sports in Utah.

Yes, yes, I’m a Sexton stan, but hear me out. Having a player who can beat any player off the dribble is a really powerful skill most players don’t have, and Collin has it. If you have a player with that skill play point guard, you can create a ton of space for the other players.

The Jazz guards are who got smoked off the dribble, creating the open shot. Rudy doesn’t even guard Terrance Mann.

Maybe running it back with some tweaks is underrated. Think of how many times the Jazz ran it back with John, Karl, and Jerry. Yeah, they never won it all, but they were the best shot the Jazz ever had. Seems like the NBA today is too impatient, especially with coaches.

Here’s an idea: NBA gives every team that doesn’t make the playoffs equal odds in the lottery. This way it can even out the league by helping bad teams, but stop encouraging such a strong tanking culture in the league.

Many people get frustrated with the Jazz not having a direction. I think a rigid gameplan is the wrong philosophy. Market conditions change a lot, it’s wisest to try to make the best decisions as they come. Evaluate them one by one. I think this is what Ainge is doing.

It’s likely that case Kris Dunn is doing a ton for this team off the court in terms of leadership and togetherness. Dude is always cheering hard when he isn’t playing. I’ve heard it commented several times that he’s the most talkative Jazz player.

I think I’m sick of this “Lauri can’t create his own shots” narrative. Dude can literally shoot over a large amount of players any time he wants. I’m not saying he’s Donovan when it comes to iso, but he doesn’t rely solely on being wide open either.
