Cuba had nearly 80,000 neighborhood town halls to hash out their new Family Code before it went to a vote. When’s the last time there was a town hall in your town of Anywhere, USA over legislation? When’s the last time you got to have input on a change to the constitution?
Make no mistake: prior experiments of socialism did not FAIL. They were DESTROYED. We can examine the drawbacks of specific policies or positions of these extinct states through a Marxist lens, but their extinction was not due to a deficiency in the science of Marxism-Leninism.
There was once a vision of a better future for Europe. Make no mistake: progress can only be turned back temporarily. There is no force in the universe that can stop the inevitability of socialism.
🧵 To a liberal, the concept of "democracy" is esoteric and intangible, like "freedom" or "happiness". But democracy IS tangible, it IS measurable. For example, most of us spend the majority of our lives at work, yet only 10% of Americans are in a union.
2003: I am against the US invasion of Iraq
“SADDAM HUSSEIN SUPPORTER! AL QAEDA LOVER! WMDS!!!”
2023: I am against the occupation of Palestine by Israel
“HAMAS LOVER! ANTI-SEMITE! DECAPITATED BABIES!!!”
I don’t understand dying on the hill of “patriotic socialism”. Who do you think is listening? It’s certainly not the working class. Appealing to the patriotism of a blue collar worker here in Appalachia AT BEST will come off as disingenuous, and at worst will get your ass beat.
#XiJinping
is trending, so just a reminder that he is the leader of the ACTUALLY free world, the lead synthesizer of Marxism-Leninism in the 21st century, and the preeminent socialist of our time.
30 years ago today, on December 8th 1991, the Belovezh Accords were signed which illegally dissolved the Soviet Union. I watched an interview this morning with an old man who grew up during and after WW2 and he said “the country, the motherland, was lost.”
Thinking about what could have been. Andropov could have been the USSR’s Xi Jinping. I truly believe they would still be here today had he taken over for Brezhnev a few years earlier.
Being a Trotskyist must be so easy. You have no impetus to learn any developments of socialism past the 1930s. You don’t have to do any critical thinking about the material reality of modern socialist states, you can write them all off as “degenerated worker’s states”.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: the best communists are workers first. All love to college students and leftie streamers, but your connection to the broad working masses is tenuous at best until you have years- YEARS- of experience in jobs (steady or otherwise).
One of the major roadblocks with trying to raise class consciousness among your community is realizing that you don’t have a community. Some of us- myself included- have been completely alienated from neighbors, from our town, even from our own family.
There is a reason Trotskyism, leftcommunism, and other various forms of ultra-leftism is peddled in the West, and why you find ultra-left thinkers taught about in US history books as “counter-cultural” to Stalin, Lenin, etc: they pose no real threat to the ruling class.
Comrades, the world is a scary place, and devouring geopolitical news 24/7 can be damaging to our mental health. If you find yourself getting upset at the state of current events, take a day off from social media and just vibe. Play some video games, get stoned, call your mom.
I just wanted to touch on the latest CPUSA drama regarding application response and timing. We know it sucks, the process is very opaque, and response time is all over the place. We’re still in the midst of a MASSIVE resurgence that we did not have the infrastructure to handle.
You know what will trigger class consciousness in said worker? Asking him why he can criticize the president, but not his boss. Asking him why his daddy worked the same job in 1970 and bought a 3000 sq-ft house, when he can’t afford an 800 sq-ft apartment.
I had my buddy 3D print this Lenin bust last year and now all I can think about is buying my own PLA or resin printer and selling printed busts of socialist leaders on Etsy.
We need a US Communist festival. CPUSA, DSA, FRSO, and PSL should join forces and do one. It’d be the exact opposite of Burning Man- not “radical self reliance” but radical communal reliance.
A CIA agent and a KGB agent walk into a bar.
The CIA agent says, “You guys are great at propaganda, your citizens will believe anything!”
The KGB agent laughs. “You think ours is good? Yours is the best in history.”
The CIA agent looks confused and says, “What propaganda?”
So, an American worker has democracy... until the second they walk through the doors of their workplace where they will spend the next 8-12 hours, almost every day, for decades. How can we live in a democracy, if it can be turned on and off throughout the day?
For the past few weeks, I’ve been following westerners who live in China and vlog their experience on YouTube. It’s really portrayed the country in a new light to me, not that it’s some idyllic fairytale land, but that it’s a thriving, vibrant place where people are ALIVE.
🧵 Dual power. It can be boiled down to the legendary 1917 chant: “All power to the Soviets!” But what does that mean? It is not mutual aid, or unions, or coops, although they can be an important part.
Congratulations comrades! We now own the means of production. Medical care, child care, and education are all free. The retirement age is now 55. Millions of acres owned by billionaires are being returned to indigenous people. Rent is now capped at 5% of income.
Saw an interesting take on Reddit about why support for either side of the 🇺🇦/🇷🇺 conflict seems to fall along typical Dem vs Rep lines. Basically, it’s because Republicans support Industrial Capital (like Russia), and Democrats support Finance Capital (imperialism).
In 2019 Zelensky was a corrupt Eastern European politician, puppet to the Ukrainian oligarchs, and force of democratic suppression in Ukraine. In 2022, he is a liberal hero and defender of democracy. Which way, western man?
Imagine: "Havana without clean water, Communist Party of Cuba tells citizens they will be without water indefinitely"
"In North Korean city, 400,000 people are without clean drinking water for the 8th year"
"In the last year alone, state death squads in China kill 1100 people"
🧵 Many on the Marxist left want to engage with the world not as it is, but as they want it to be in order to self-validate their chosen path of revolution. Both left and right deviations are guilty of this, and me, and you (yes, YOU 🫵)
Have you even been able to vote for the right to BE in a union? Make no mistake: we live in one of the most undemocratic countries, and it has always been this way. There is no "golden age" of America to return to. Any working class success here has been in SPITE of government.
Comrade Joe Sims is PASSIONATE right now in the VA Congress about CPUSA running candidates to respond to the overwhelming political anger of working class people. YES 🙌🙌🙌 Whether we can win or not, it’s a critical tool we must use in the lead up to building socialism!!!
Hearing about some losers infiltrating the CPUSA new member orientation tonight. First of all, the scope of those is intended to be procedural and extremely broad. Second of all, the invites are open to ANYONE- good, bad, ugly, fed.
Neo-feudalism is not a separate thing from capitalism. We have not exited end-stage capitalism and entered a new system. “Neo-feudalism” is literally just imperialism and monopoly capitalism as described by Lenin.
And even if every American was in a union, what is the state of American "democracy"? 99% of Americans are working class, yet how many working class people are in government? When have you gotten the chance to vote for something that actually affects your life?
I was exposed to Marxism on TikTok back in 2020/2021, and much of that early exposure came from Eddie and Midwestern Marx. Seeing him devolve from PatSoc into LaRouchism and Hazite NatSoc is sad, but mostly pathetic. It’s so easy to avoid this when you’re not a chauvinist.
Have you ever been able to vote for: universal healthcare? An end to war? Abolition of the carceral system? Political autonomy for indigenous and other historically oppressed peoples? Housing for the houseless? Abolition of the CIA? Defunding the Pentagon? Disbanding the police?
Marxism and participating in the Marxist-Leninist struggle for socialism makes you see the world in a way that cannot be unseen. We have a world to win, but that world is one to enjoy TODAY, however you can manage it. Steal your joy from a society that wants to keep you from it.
I lost both of my legs in battle while defending our nation. I'll never give up fighting for America.
These repulsive actions demonstrate just how deeply ingrained hatred for America is with these pro-Hamas protesters.
@MarxistArtist
Maps like this are so funny because some of the most foaming-at-the-mouth fascists are in eastern Oregon and Idaho, that’s how I know the politics of this movie are gonna be a jumbled mess as usual
Today’s CPUSA meeting, despite it just being 3 of us, really re-energized my excitement for our local movement. If y’all are feeling "doomerist", find when your next CPUSA meeting is and join it. Talking to comrades face-to-face is the ultimate antidote for defeatism.
I got this in a communist sticker pack from Amazon 🤢 I was about to throw it away, but I felt the need to share the sheer idiocy of it. The fact that there are some people on this hell site that actually want this is astounding. 🤮
Capitalism grinds the mass of humanity into dust, and provides just enough water to shape us into humanoid form to perform their labor. The moment we cease being useful, we are left in the sun to dry out and return to dust. We can never be fully human under capitalism.
This is going to ruffle some feathers:
If you’re spending the revolutionary energy of yourself and that of your local comrades on fighting the leadership of your organization INSTEAD OF organizing, agitating, and educating within your community, you’re an opportunist.
@BlackRedGuard1
Ngl the more I learn of Mao and the CPC’s experience with Stalin during the Chinese Civil War and after, the more I find myself siding with Mao’s conception of him
@dillondruggz
I don’t think I could ever tell my family I was a communist or a member of the Party, although I have been subtly trying to bring them some class consciousness with some amount of success
The US government is so incapable of seeing beyond next week that it can’t possibly comprehend of what comes next after making sure all democratic avenues are destroyed, tearing down all popular legislation, and permanently blocking every popular cause from advancing.
It never ceases to amaze me that, in the US, our life expectancy is decreasing, housing and basic necessity prices are skyrocketing, inflation is twice the normal amount, homelessness is growing, and real wages continue to decrease, but 0 politicians are doing anything about it.
The term “idpol” is being used by right-deviationists to obfuscate the absolute necessity of intersectional struggle for liberation. The fact that they spend more time telling you what they DON’T mean by that term than what they DO mean is 🚩🚩🚩
And it's down Along the Falls Road, that's where I long to be,
Lying in the dark with a Provo company,
A comrade on my left and another on my right
And a clip of ammunition for my little Armalite.
Finally got around to watching Judas and the Black Messiah on my flight yesterday, and damn, what a powerful film. I’m shocked that such an openly pro-socialist, pro-Panther movie even got made. That alone should tell you that these ideas are gaining popularity.
This is probably gonna rankle some folks, but we need way less terminally-online ideological label collectors in the communist movement and way more “townsfolk”. What I mean by “townsfolk” is: your brother, your coworker, your city councilor, your pastor. Basically, the masses!
@ComradeCary
The CP obtained the building in the 70s via [REDACTED] and is thus able to charge well-below market value for the space it rents out. We’re forced to struggle within the society that birthed us. Requiring us to be paupers to prove ideological purity is utopian at best.
Stumbled upon a TikTok of Jon Stewart doing a podcast with war criminals Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, they were talking about the “necessity” of military interventions (Iraq and Libya). Every single comment was calling them out. The masses are starting to see the truth.
I see a lot of people who say “scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds”, but let me present you with this instead: the anarchist to fascist pipeline in plain English
We’ve heard all the excuses from places like PSL, DSA International Committee, etc. “But Azov!” “NATO imperialism!” “Socialism is illegal in Ukraine!” None of these orgs meaningfully sought to solicit input from Ukrainians.
America needs a Cultural Revolution. The superstructure in this country is diseased. We are atomized, demoralized, impoverished. The Third Reconstruction with the Poor People’s Campaign is doing this now. March to DC on June 18th and demand change!
I work in the electric vehicle industry, and the craziest thing about it is that everyone knows that our grid is woefully inadequate to support any sort of mass adoption. We need a New Deal Pt 2 to upgrade every inch of our electrical infrastructure but we will never get it.
Onboarding new CPUSA members is the best. Everyone needs to get involved with their local district and help them process applications, they could use the help AND it’s so rewarding!
In the 1930s, my great-grandmother and her sister were raped by their husbands around the same time and they went into the woods to have abortions. Only one of them went through with it, but both of them carried that psychological trauma the rest of their lives.
In late stage capitalism, an actual form of entertainment is sitting on a boat and watching the glaciers melt and fall into the sea. That is some Fall of Númenor shit
I’m not going to comment on the particularities of the latest drama w.r.t. the online left and CPUSA. I have been in CPUSA for 3 years now and have seen this exact scenario play out several times. Everyone love demcent until they see it in action 🤔
American democracy is when 9 unelected elderly trust fund brats get to decide what happens to tens of millions of people with no input or oversight from the general public
I know my story isn’t uncommon, even if it feels incredibly isolating. I try to do things out of the house every week or so but it all feels so unnatural. We’ve been deprived of so-called “third spaces”. You can go to the brewery and spend 1/4 of your paycheck, or Walmart.
I feel like I'm going mad, every politician is like "the killing of civilians is never acceptable and that's why we must stand with Israel as it drops apartment blocks on children."
American bureaucrat: “it’ll take us 15 years to rebuild a bridge”
Chinese bureaucrat: “in 15 years Mao Zedong directed the taming of 1000 kilometers of the Huai River, ending the flood risk to 55 million people… and it was done by HAND and with DRAFT ANIMALS!!!”
I often think about how, during High COVID, Vietnamese soldiers and police officers were delivering food and supplies to people. Imagine if we had that, instead of the hoards of violent abusers we call the police.
I just learned from a very credible source in the Midwest that there is a very high possibility of a USSR 2 being created in the next 5 years. At least Minnesota + Michigan.
This is HUGE.
