The highest number of clasps ever awarded on a Military General Service Medal was fifteen. With eleven total, Ned wasn’t too far off!

We're always thrilled to see what people bring to the Museum during the course of researching a relative! This menu card is from the 1935 KRRC 10th Bn. reunion dinner, which a visitor brought with them while doing some research, and kindly allowed us to photograph.

You'll see Sir John Moore mentioned throughout the Museum. Pictured is the front page of a songsheet of the poem 'The Burial of Sir John Moore at Corunna' by Charles Wolfe, as well as the red officers sashes that were used to lower Sir John Moore's body into his grave at Corunna.

The eyewitness and secondhand accounts focus on Plunket's bravery in moving forward rather than the distance of the shots. It was nevertheless an impressive display of marksmanship that exemplified the skills of the 95th Rifles and the advantages of the Baker Rifle.
