USAG bringing the receipts!!!!
If this is accurate, CAS, FIG, and IOC need to take a hard look inward where they’ve made decisions that adversely affect athletes without allowing them to be present.
And sometimes you inquire and your score goes DOWN.
(Both Jade Carey and Kara Eaker has been there. So don't make this a US always gets what they want situation)
For new gymnastics fans:
1) score inquiries happen at EVERY meet.
2) tie breaks happen at ALMOST every meet.
3) sometimes they help and sometimes they hurt the gymnast’s score
4) when your fave loses out because of a tie-break or an inquiry it SUCKS
5) the score still stands.
Set in stone, ready to bring it home. ⤵️
The U.S. Women will compete for a spot on the medal podium during tomorrow’s Team Final!
VT ➡️ Chiles, Carey, Biles
UB ➡️ Chiles, Biles, Lee
BB ➡️ Chiles, Lee, Biles

Can we take a moment to recognize that Simone has competed senior since 2013 without ever having an injury that prevented her from competing all 4 events?!
Has anyone else been active through almost 3 full quads with this level of athleticism?
The coaches were mic’d up and being recorded for Simone’s documentary. So I’m SURE they can provide a full transcript and timeline with video/audio from every angle.
The US interested parties were given 8 hours notice that the hearing would focus on the 1- minute window to file an inquiry. 12:26 am to 8:30 am local time.
8 hours notice while they were likely sleeping…
So Romania is claiming that the Omega system couldn’t accurately detect an out of bounds, but the same system was 100% accurate in the recording of the inquiry for JC.
In the end, 3 gymnast suffered for a system that failed the FIG:
> permited to accept an inquiry that was proven to be after time by 4 sec
> not allowing them to see a OOB, this explains the multiple errors & Sabrina's case (not inquired)
3x 🥉 was the fair solution all along
Backstory:
During the Beam event final, Simone did a quick salute/turn and walked off the podium, likely because of an uncharacteristic fall. The judges gave her a 0.3 Neutral Deduction for failure to salute.
Notes from Cecile Landi on Simone Biles’ apparent injury:
- "Just a little pain in her calf" – felt it on floor, taped it
- Said she was dealing with something a couple weeks ago but not up until today
- Said by bars she started to feel better
- Not concerned at the moment about
The issue with the 4 seconds is that it's almost impossible that the official clicked a button simultaneously while Landi started to speak.
Without seeing a video of what actually happened, its entirely plausible that the inquiry was made, but not recorded in the time frame.
I wonder if the footage the USOPC is seeking to submit shows that Landi did make the verbal inquiry within the time limit, but that it was not logged into the system in a timely manner.
Nothing would surprise me at this point and not sure that would change anything anyway.
If there is no OFFICIAL time keeping of inquiries and no OFFICIAL video to be used as evidence, this should have never been decided in the first place.
And back to the root cause:
- when does the timer START for an inquiry?
- when does the timer END?
Exact specifics are needed.
- is it when the score shows at the apparatus?
- is it when the score shows on the big monitors?
- is it when the official clicks submit?
- is it

Does anyone have a video of Jordan’s score? Because from the time when the SCORE is posted to the time the E and D score are available is over 4 seconds.
And you can’t make an inquiry without seeing the E&D score. (And any ND)
Thanks
@poorlawyer
for this vid.
Does anyone who was in Paris have a video of the score board for ANY gymnast in any EF? I want to see and hear how long the full score takes to display.
I know they had some sort of animations, etc for when a score showed up at the top.
And confirming they literally have no idea who this official was. So they aren’t able to be questioned.
Why wasn’t the French federation pressed for the identity??
@flaviasaraiv4
The poster is a keepsake that has art of Paris and all the Olympic sports. I just wish it wasn’t in a brown cardboard box when presented to them.
What’s the one thing you most want to happen at the Olympics?
For me: MDJDS breaking a 57 in the AA final and taking bronze in front of a home crowd.
She’s been so good for so long. I need her to have her Andrade breakout year.
Why did no one ask for a demonstration of the system to understand the amount of time it takes an official to submit the verbal inquiry notification to the superior panel?
Timeline for Scores and the inquiry:
Score Posted: 15:32:17
Verbal Inquiry: 15:33:21
Written Inquiry: 15:33:37
It would appear to me that Cecile made the verbal and written inquiry at the same time and it took 16 seconds from documenting the verbal inquiry to when the written
In addition, the score POSTED time most certainly doesn’t correspond to the score displayed time. There were animations on the score board etc. so how much time elapsed between score “posting” and score being “visible”

Kaylia just got a 14.533 beam. 😱
Pair with her best 23/24 scores of 15.433 bars. 12.866 fx. And 13.0 vault….
Is a 55.832 AA
She’s really gonna be in the top rotating group. And ready to snatch something if anyone falls. I’m sure French media will claim her so fast.
Watching
@ChilesJordan
at PanAms with my 5yo who loves her book. And every time she sees her, she says. “Daddy, She has skin just like me!!” And my heart melts every time for her to have a role model like this to look up.
This would be the time the official recorded it, not the time it happened. Did the official record it the second Cecile approached the table? Or after he was done speaking to her?
inquired & then she got to the judges table quick enough in 55 seconds to do a 2nd verbal inquiry. But neither of their claims matter because the Omega system already recorded the exact second Jordan's score was posted & the exact time Cecile's inquiry was put on (64 seconds).
This type of coverage is the exact reason athletes have issues with their mental health.
We don’t need a Simone mistake montage. Do better
@NBCOlympics
@irysia_ua
But they weren’t notified there was even a hearing until 22 hours prior to it. And were notified of the subject of the hearing until 8 hours prior.
