As my time in the House comes to a close on #NewYearsDay I reflect on the amazing & talented people that I’ve worked with on “Team Smitty”. Each of them have gone on to do great things & we all keep in touch. Happy New Year with appreciation for all we did together.

The 1st Presidential Inauguration I ever attended was for President Carter in 1977 when I was still in high school. I recall vividly him waving to me as he was the 1st President to actually walk in the parade. RIP to a man with great integrity.
