Chris Simms is the ultimate Texas Longhorn.
-from New Jersey
-dad is a multi-millionaire and kid showed up to school in a sports car.
-went from top recruit in the country to third round pick
-sucked in the pros
-thinks he and UT are too big for the conference he never won. 🤘🏻
Still love how genuine Dave Aranda is with the media, because it means he is with his players and coaches as well.
Most coaches in college football would’ve lied and said the Novosad flip meant nothing and that they’ve blocked out the last month and blah blah blah…
Not Aranda.
Sqwirl Williams is hitting the transfer portal.
Really too bad, I loved how his role evolved and was excited to see what he could bring next year.
5 years of service to Baylor and we’ll always have this awesome, cold as heck play to seal a career game in Norman.

Welcome to BUTT week, people!
Baylor hasn't won in Lubbock in 32 years, so we might've forgotten all of the city's charm.
It's time to revisit the supposed capital of college football!
Maybe it’s just me, but I think the first step for Baylor getting back to a cool, fun brand like TCU has become would be to lean into this a little bit more…
10 years ago today, I was a junior in high school job shadowing at a sports talk radio station in Boston, WEEI, the one I listened to every day as a kid.
Tomorrow, I’m broadcasting live from the NCAA Tournament for ESPN Central Texas.
Weird decade, man.
Name someone who deserves a statue outside of your favorite school’s stadium?
Examples:

#1
: Doak Walker at SMU
Pic
#2
: ‘Mean’ Joe Greene at North Texas
So 5 ⭐️ QB DJ Lagway is a long shot for Baylor, but could be a program-altering coup from the blue bloods.
-dad played at Baylor from 1997-2001
-clearly was a Bear fan from a young age
-has a great relationship with Shawn Bell cuz BU is still in play
-first school to offer him.
Oh wouldn’t ya know!!
Jeb Hartness has been suspended before for…a completely ridiculous ejection of a head coach!
Don’t let this crew anywhere near our conference again, Brett.
📰:
"They needed every call they could get today in terms of getting it done."- Rodney Terry.
Rodney Terry not happy Texas has lost to the most recent national champion in Texas.
LISTEN: Baylor HC Nicki Collen said in her postgame interview with
@1660ESPN
she felt there were "personal shots" taken by TCU in the press conferences leading up to Wednesday's game.
Collen warned them, "don't poke the bear."
"I felt very poked, I'm not going to lie."
Scott Drew on
@1660ESPN
just now as
@mattmosley
and I asked about the Louisville rumors on the Matt Mosley Show:
“I am locked in on Baylor University…Baylor is my home and my family’s home.
On today’s Matt Mosley Show,
@franfraschilla
told me “If Jalen Bridges comes back, he’s an All-American…I can see him being like a Kevin McCullar at Kansas.”
Could take Baylor from very good to scary good. 😳
Judge Indy, the larger of the two, takes her name from Baylor's birthplace in Independence, Texas.
Judge Belle, the smallest cub in her litter, is named as an ode to the McLane Carillon bells that ring out across campus.
(2/3)
I think the problem is Baylor hires TOO MANY good, lovable coaches.
Now we’re tasked with rooting on Tang and McGuire for other Big 12 teams while our own lives are enriched by Scott Drew and Dave Aranda?
What a mess.
Baylor has announced they will honor the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 championship teams before the Nov. 2nd game against TCU.
With Gary Patterson wearing Baylor colors.
Awesome to see these teams getting celebrated at McLane, two of the absolute best in Baylor’s history.
Our student section has been genuinely awesome this year.
While the other sections are lacking, I’m SO excited to see what it’s gonna be like inside a better, more conducive building next year.
Maybe as important as Baylor’s huge matchup with TCU tonight, 5 ⭐️ center Yves Missi will announce his commitment at 5 p.m.
Missi is one of the top big men in the 2024 class, but may reclassify to the class of 2023.
He will choose between Baylor, Texas and Stanford.
Not complaining. Just curious as to why we spent 212 million on a new arena when we already have one that seats more people and has better parking?? Like coulda just remodeled and given scholarships or built a building that actually added to the university. New arena’s dope tho🫶
Baylor HC Dave Aranda:
“I’m proud of our team for the second half we had…there’s a lot to be learned from the first half. I’m really disappointed in how we started.”
Big 12 Refs blown call of the day:
10/13/18
Jameson Houston picks off Shane Buechele in the end zone but it’s inexplicably ruled an incomplete pass. UT retains the ball and scores a touchdown and wins the game by 6. This call basically cost Baylor at Top 10 road win.
Baylor RB Richard Reese, who had back-to-back KO return TD’s tonight:
“We gave it our all as a team and we came together.”
On the outlook for next season:
“We are just going to stick together as a team and give it our all again.”
Baylor AD Mack Rhoades says former OL Coach Chris Kapilovic leaving Baylor for Alabama after two months “rubbed me the wrong way.”
“We gave an opportunity to him. I thought the contract we gave him was very fair, he was highly compensated… that one didn’t sit well with me.”
Jalen Bridges on the Foster Pavilion crowd against BYU:
“The fans brought it tonight. When we went on our runs, we were this close together and we couldn’t hear each other.
It’s a great home court advantage, and we need that in this league.”
I think Baylor fans are gonna like Dominic Richardson in the backfield this year.
He gives the Bears something they really missed in 2022…an Abram Smith.
Unreal fit check from Coach Teaff in 1989.
When Coach rolls out in this, your only option is to beat Texas 50-7 for your first win in Austin in 38 years.
@realcamstuart
Sorry I put it in number format for you now:
Duggan:
1 CFP/NY6/BCS Win
1 Davey OBrien
1 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm
1 Heisman Runner Up
Petty:
0 CFP/NY6/ BCS Wins
0 Davey OBriens
0 Johnny Unitas Golden Arms
0 Heisman Runner Ups
Hearing Baylor is very close to a commitment from a transfer portal QB.
They are targeting an experienced guy who will serve as Blake Shapen’s backup rather than a young QB who can realistically compete for the starting job.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
Baylor NT Siaki Ika officially declares for the NFL Draft.
Not surprising, but one of the best prospects at his position and a dominant defensive force in his career with the Bears.
#SicEm
I’ve seen this argument a few times and it’s so crazy how even the people closest to program just forgot Baylor went from 2-7 to 12-2 and a top 5 finish literally last year.
Linton had 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles for Tech all of last season.
In Tech’s 39-14 win over Baylor in Waco, Linton had 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
You truly can’t make this stuff up. 🙃
What sucks is this TCU team is so good for the sport, the way Baylor was last year.
It’s about a bunch of players who stick by their team, face adversity and don’t make excuses. It shows that anyone can win at the very top level. It’s everything we think CFB can’t be anymore.
