GFS has had 2 hurricanes hitting Florida within 10 days of each other for a few runs now...
Obviously not a prediction, but let's focus on Storm
#1
, before we even try and entertain a potential Storm
#2
.
So about today's risk from a statistical perspective.
Did the High Risk itself verify? Most likely not, definitely didn't bust though. If you ask 100 different people, you'll get 100 varied responses.
But was the High Risk warranted? Absolutely.

April 27th is one of the most violent days in tornado history.
Not just talking about 4/27/11, but rather the day in general.
36 EF4-EF5 tornadoes have occurred on Apr 27 in recorded history. We just added one more this year.
What a strange year for the Plains.
The average primetime for violent tornadoes is around 4-7pm, but just about every event has had violent tornadoes occur after 8pm, and even go to 2-3am.
Plains got envious of Dixie.
$8/month for AWS data and a cool little sweep is outrageous.
If RO wasn’t such a laggy, buggy program, I may consider, but fix your app first before adding some overpriced features.
@RadarOmega
Slightly concerning... Probabilities aren't much lower than 5/6/24, except that this time around, there don't appear to be many, if any thermo/kinematic uncertainties, mainly just storm mode.
