@FranklinSm10235 @anders_aslund They've been so used to acting superior and looking down on Americans that they've lost touch with reality. They fail to recognize how they've been the abusers in this so-called 'relationship'. A reckoning is overdue.

Historically, Canada has experienced a significant brain drain to the U.S., especially in the tech industry. For instance, a study focusing on graduates from 2015 and 2016 in 22 STEM subjects found that two-thirds of recent software engineering graduates from top Canadian universities are now working in the U.S. ( Additionally, the combined federal and provincial income tax rates in Canada are notably higher than in the U.S. In Ontario, for example, the top marginal tax rate reaches 53.53% for incomes over $220,000 CAD. In contrast, the top federal rate in the U.S. is 37%, with state taxes varying. Some states, like Florida, have no state income tax, making the U.S. more attractive for high-income earners. ( These factors contribute to the migration of skilled Canadian workers and business owners to the U.S.

That gives away their strategy! They will use this portal to file frivolous reports, intentionally muddying the waters. When both sides are at odds, the public will likely lose interest. They will withhold names due to whistleblower protection laws. The tactic will be to present unsubstantiated claims, with the media amplifying the narrative they wish to push.

@AntiTrumpCanada To the ones who refuse to see what is public. An estimated 75,000 Canadians have died while waiting for treatment. I suppose you will be ok, as long one of those were not a loved one.

Yes, that can happen... But you can't judge everything based on exceptions. If health insurance companies denied claims all the time, they’d quickly go out of business—it wouldn’t make sense. Insurance companies also invest heavily in marketing, and brand reputation is a key factor in customer selection. Provinces also deny treatment for rare diseases. In many cases, they only cover the hospital stay, not the treatment itself. That’s where extended health insurance comes into play in Canada. Physiotherapy coverage, for example, is severely limited and, in many provinces, not covered at all. If you read the fine print, you'll see that many things aren’t covered.

You also need to factor in the approximately 3 million temporary workers and students (thanks to the Trudeau Liberals). This is a major reason why things worsened after 2022. These individuals aren’t included in official healthcare statistics because many provinces don’t count them in the "free" healthcare system. For example, in Ontario, they likely have private insurance. But whether publicly funded or not, the number of doctors remains the same.

Really? You can purchase health insurance. Depending on your employment, it might include it as part of your benefits package. But, let’s be honest: Over the last 10 years, the quality of healthcare in Canada has significantly declined. At least in the U.S., there's the option to declare bankruptcy for health treatment. I know several cases in which people have died because they couldn’t get the necessary treatment in time. Just to clarify, I don’t support annexation or anything like that—just pointing out the facts.

@Mickbeeton10101 @tim_52941 @JackDan110 @elonmusk The shortage of doctors is from a WHO report. Their criteria is too broad for the context of my analysis. According to OCDE Canada has around 2.8 doctors per 1000 ppl. The US has 2.6 ( saw 3.6 in a AMA report) and Spain has 4.6. It is not just heath care personnel numbers.

@stclairashley These folks are just defending their pocket. It is that simple! Look to the DOGE findings from the Dept of Education. Although in its initial stages they already show the corruption.

@TravisVAndrews @JackDan110 @elonmusk I agree! There are pros and cons! But you must agree that the healthcare in Canada is on the ICU… Maybe after all the dust settles Canada can get out of this stronger. And its citizens can reap some of the benefits because of the “competition”.
