Galloway Young Adults (18-30) meets tonight at St Joseph's, Kilmarnock (KA3 1HB), beginning with Mass at 6.00 pm. We'll be joined by Canon Patrick Keegans who'll be speaking about his experiences of walking the Camino de Santiago.

When Christ asks something of us that we don't understand or expect, how do we respond? Do we trust in him, or do we doubt preferring instead to trust in ourselves? Let us ask God for the grace to trust in him and to follow wherever he leads us.

We had another great Young Adults (18-30) evening last night. Thanks to Margaret for cooking a delicious meal, and to everyone who came along to take part. Fr Kevin also announced the program of talks for the coming months - why not come along and join us next time?

We're all set for our Young Adults (18-30) Christmas Dinner. We'll start with Mass at 6 pm following which we'll enjoy our Christmas Dinner. We've had a couple of cancellations so, if you've not signed up but would like to come along please do!

"The shepherds went with haste." Hearing the angel's call, the shepherds went in search of Christ; when we hear Christ's call for us, do we respond with the same zeal? In this New Year, let us recognise Christ's hope for us: hear his call and to respond in love. Happy New Year!

John came to prepare a way for the Lord, to tell the people of the imminence of Christ's incarnation, to invite them to prepare their hearts to welcome him. Let us seek hear that same call repeated today: to prepare our own hearts as we look to welcome Christ this Christmas.

How do we respond to God's call? By cooperating with him and using our lives to build up his Kingdom on earth, or by challenging him, by avoiding his call and the witness he asks us to give? Let us use this time to reflect and ask ourselves how better can we live for Christ?

Today we celebrate the Feast of St Lucy who was martyred c.304 for refusing to worship pagan Gods. For us today Lucy offers us a witness to aspire to: to live our lives seeking to always witness to Christ and to have that same zeal and strength of faith as her.

John the Baptist lived his life proclaiming Christ's coming and preparing the way for him. We're invited to do the same this Advent, to prepare a way for the Lord, to seek to grow closer to him in our own lives, and to help those most in need of God to see him in their lives.
