I’m still in search of my next Ruby on Rails gig. It seems like the market has really dropped off over the past 12 months. I’m totally happy with a part-time contract, more than one of possible. I am willing to help out in many roles; team lead, manager or in-the-trenches writing code, I’ve done them all. I have many followers here and I know someone has to know a company or two looking for help. Please reach out, I’d love to chat.

You’re welcome! I like the variety of things you link. The links are my favorite. I’m a dev too but your links don’t often overlap with things I would have already come across. I find things out I probably wouldn’t have seen otherwise. I also like the timing of when you send, right when I’m having my Sunday morning coffee. I can’t recall an aspect I don’t like but I will give it some more thought.

@donnfelker @jumpstartrails I’ve done a ton of Ruby on Rails upgrades over the years and the #1 aspect of the project that made my life easy was a comprehensive test suite. When I was approached to perform an upgrade on a big app with little or no tests, I passed. It’s just not worth it.

@collin_jilbert Love it! Any time we can be more concise without introducing ambiguity is a win.

@excid3 @useTRMNL This is definitely cool. Ordered one to see what it can do. Great episode with Ryan from TRMNL with @JasonSwett -

This looks really interesting. Going to take a look for an app I’m building.
Here it is folks! The article I wrote about using Phlex and ViewComponent as your views in Rails controllers by way of Superview. I also released Superview 1.0 today, which I use in production. Since Twitter is deathly afraid of links to the open web, the link is in the 🧵👇

@GergelyOrosz Funny, I had a client 30 years ago who used this term back then. It meant Marketing Technology and was used in similar ways you refer. I haven’t heard the term in a while now.

@JasonSwett I did the exact same thing. Finding reliable contract work has become harder. Lots of gigs but the path to the work didn’t interest me.
