@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics Well, aside from (I'll chalk the bombs up to) defense spending and some NGO work, Medicare and Medicaid are like, a third of it.

@DaRealJTCBT @JMaaan8989 @Fan99Philly @EastEndJoe @DOGE Ok fine, I am actually not against the general push for transparency and honesty in government spending, contrary to what @JMaaan8989 insinuated. But don't hype yourself up thinking these kinds of numbers are going to cut your taxes in half or something.

@JMaaan8989 @Fan99Philly @DaRealJTCBT @EastEndJoe @DOGE Ok don't get ahead of yourself, let's wait and see what we owe this year and next compared to last. Remember that the real meat of taxes goes to the big guns: social security and medicare, alongside defense.

@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics Ok, points worth considering. What about engineering research in the DoD though? There is something to be said about such projects being federally managed and kept low profile, but ok as far as general technological advancement I am convinced that the private sector often wins.

@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics Ok, but that part of it was more about reshoring US semiconductor manufacturing and competing with China's sector than anything else, so it checks out they would fund initiatives for already existing players. Also there was other funding for just varied, general research.

@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics Also don't forget, government funding has heavily played a role in the development of GPS, Google, and through DARPA a lot of smartphone and self driving car tech.

@Ryan_In_Mi @EdKrassen As much as you want to believe that we can create a society where all that truly matters is someone's skill, credentials and accomplishments, you have to be honest, MAGA will not bring that. Because society will never truly be that way.

@JMaaan8989 @Fan99Philly @EastEndJoe @DOGE What if, as someone who pays taxes, I don't really want my tax money being used this way?

@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics Ok, some fair points, and hey, I don't knock the argument for increased transparency and accountability as far as how federal tax money is spent, and for reducing redundant or unnecessary expenses. I personally don't mind programs like the one above. We differ, fine.

@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics The fact that you haven't even spent one whole cent on this aside, I think it's safe to say there are more justifiable things to be upset about regarding use of taxpayer money.

@TobytheOrca @acnewsitics sorry I was trying to tally up the amount of money you personally have been spending on this program and the system wouldn't let me look orders of magnitude lower than 10^-9 cents.

@R3dPilledHippie @DenisonBarbs @krassenstein Why isn't he? He was officially convicted on 34 felony counts by a New York state court and jury.

@Bones_Trader777 @DenisonBarbs @krassenstein He is 100%, indisputably, you can't win this argument so don't even try, a convicted felon.
