Stop looking for 1 year to be your year. That’s not how it goes. Make one day good. Then use that as a building block for the next day. It’s really one day at a time til it become a habit. Then all of a sudden you don’t have a great year you have a great life. Happy new year!

Dear Artist, in order to be successful in the music business. You don't need an experienced manager. You need a manager that gives a f*ck. Every great experienced manager started off as a young buck who just gave a fuck about a creative & that's how they built their mgmt career.

If you’re a artist & you’re too cool to promote your music & content you might want to rethink your approach in 2022. You need to be willing to be on the front line promoting your music/content. That too cool for school Shit is over.

Dear Artist. Let me tell you a secret. No matter how much money someone pours into your music, if the world doesn’t want it there’s no amount of money that will change that. So instead of complaining about the lack of push you’re getting. Make better music.

The songwriter is the most disrespected person in the ENTIRE music business. Artist contribute 1 word or no words then ask for a large cut of pub. You’re going to sing this song for the rest of your life & get paid. Don’t take from writers. Pay them also!

If you have friends in the music biz call them and check on them. This rat race that we all are in is not cool. Some days I feel like a super hero who can take over the world and some days I just wanna cry and quit. I know I'm not alone. I know a lot of us feel this way.

S/O to the music execs out here who discover talent when they dont have a following or research & are still willing to bet their own money to develop artist/creatives because they believe in their ability to make something out of nothing. This game is built on those ppl backs

I think all record deals, finances & terms should be publicly reported like sports contracts. Thats Y athletes have made more money as time went on. If artist/creatives knew how much money they actually made & how much money execs made it would change a lot of how we do business

The BIGGEST issue in music and why everyone is so lost except maybe a few artist. The older artist think they're only selling music. So their missing connectivity. The younger artist think they're only selling lifestyle so they're missing how important the music actually is.

The A&R role has changed in 2022. The old Discovery process is no longer valuable. Data is the new a&r discovery. The days of just finding artist as a super power are done. To be a great A&R NOW you’re going to have to be able to guide & DEVELOP talent!

The worst ppl in the music business are those people who are nice AF to the people who they can benefit from or the people who are UP but treat people who they “think” are beneath them like sh*t. You know those people who only smile w/ the CEO but treat the junior ppl like sh*t.

I wish people would stop lying to these artist saying you need 250k to break a artist. You need 250k to break a record but artist have to break themselves through story telling content & music. If 250k was all that was needed all these labels & athletes would be breaking artist.

Dear Artist, when you ask someone in the music business to check out your music you’re giving them power over you. Stop asking industry people to check you out. I’m in the business. You think I ever asked anyone in this business what they thought about The GAUDS Show??

Atlanta is special bcuz here you gotta go on the offense to be seen. In LA/NYC you can just walk in the room & FALL into some shit. In Atlanta you gotta CALL into some shit! Hope they answer the phone Lol so the hunger here is different. We dont take our opportunities for granted

The man/woman who tries to perfect their craft before showing the world will always lose to the person who’s unafraid to show the world their flaws & grow through them.

As a man I have to say this. We have to normalize celebration of the classy woman. I don’t want my daughter thinking she has to be naked online to get attention from men.

The hardest part of being a music exec is we are not judged/rewarded based on our actual abilities like the rest of the world is. We are judged based on someone else's ability. You can be the best at what you do but until the right talent comes in no one will notice your ability.

Having support is very overrated. We put too much focus on who is not supporting & who doesn’t believes in us. Everything great was built on the lack of belief & support. Just know 100 times out of 100 the only belief you need is the belief in yourself. The world will follow.

You gotta love the work more than you love the fruits that come from it. That's the only way you're going to get to the success you want and be able to maintain it.

The worst kind of successful men are the ones that couldn't get girls before they got on. They will sell their boys out, shit on their friends, talk loud to get attention. Won't invite their homies places because they're afraid they won't get the right women attention.
