I am truly heartbroken, my heart goes to his family in these tragic times. I first met David at @embl (I was predoc he was postdoc) & we rekindled when @epiddin + I were being attracted to @BristolUni, he played a key role in our recruit. Thank you for always and RIP David 💔🙏.

We were very sorry to learn of the death this week of our friend and colleague Prof. David Stephens. As a scientist and educator David touched the lives of countless biochemists and cell biologists, and he will be fondly remembered. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2024 #NobelPrize in Chemistry with one half to David Baker “for computational protein design” and the other half jointly to Demis Hassabis and John M. Jumper “for protein structure prediction.”
