I know there’s a pandemic on and everything is kind of anxiety provoking but today I found out that I passed my finals and turns out I’m going to be a doctor. Bonkers. I’m very happy. (this is the only picture of not cake or trees I took today so it’ll do)

I got a message today to say that a discharge letter of mine was good and honestly I never realised how much a wee bit of positive feedback could brighten my day. Very sleepy post nights but also very much enjoying this whole working craic.

I’m exhausted, drained and down in the dumps because I’m finding this whole interim F1 thing all a bit rough. It’s important to be honest because (hopefully) in a few months time I’ll feel able to do this. Not so much tonight though.

Returned to medicine and I love this job. Yes I’m tired and I worry about all the answers I don’t have but it’s just great. If the bleep could calm it maybe I’d have time to think about the answers but I’m working on it. The best. Never have to do not medicine again either! Mad.

Tonight I want to do a thread about medical books because I see lots of peeps wanting recommendations and it’s always the same three or four books that get recommended. NOT TONIGHT. Some of these may be harder to find but are well worth a treasure hunt 💫

It’s been a long hard year but I’m so sad to be leaving Daisy Hill for the last time today. I had the best year with the best people and got to do what remains to be my dream job. 10/10 would do it all again.
Also might have been voted F1 of the year. Year made.

Today was my last day of academic rotation and I don’t have enough characters to cover what I’ve learned from clinicians and researchers and everyone in between the two. It’s been the best time. It’s also taught me that I have lots to learn (never a bad thing really). Now to ED🥳

Granny mentioned last week how much she missed baking now she can’t do it anymore so today I brought ingredients for an apple pie and i did as I was told. We had the best day. Even if it isn’t quite as good as she would have been able to make alone. No one judge my dodge pastry!

The cat I’ve been trying to befriend on my evening walk finally took me as his own and hopped on to my knee for a snooze tonight. I can’t feel my legs because of the prolonged squat but it was so worth it. Yes that’s what my face did when he lay down.

Omg can I just say that I did good. Like these are more than edible and hopefully will do wonders for international relations.

Today a person I help to look after told me all about how they were in hospital for two years(!!) because of TB a long long time ago. Working in a care home is hard at times but it’s still one of the best decisions I made. Very grateful that I still get to hear all these stories.

I’ve recently discovered the

audiobook library and it’s fantastic because I can listen to all sorts of things that I maybe wouldn’t pick up from a shelf. And I can listen at x2 speed so I’m wizzing through things. Forever grateful for public libraries.
