31st October 2024. #Halloween and today's the day every last person who has harassed women outside an abortion clinic turns into a pumpkin. Safe Access Zones are now in force around every abortion clinic in England and Wales. It's time, finally, to #BackOff (🧵 for more 🎃)

In 2023/24, 2792 abortions took place in Northern Ireland. The year before Westminster changed the law there were 8. And 1014 women who could afford it were forced to travel to England for care. Pro-choice advocacy changed 1770 lives last year. That's why we do what we do. 💪

Have this vague sense that the issue with growth isn't a third runway at Heathrow, but that it was approved in 2009 after 20 years of to and fro, and still nothing's been built. Still, at least we're getting a tunnel out of a £300m, 360k page planning proposal. Probably. Maybe.

@thealmightyflop This obviously indicates that out there there's a cat named Potato, and a cat named Haggis. And those are also excellent cat names.

@Artemisapphire What we all want to see more of is the rehashing of historical events with the word 'crisis' in them. First Suez, next Cuban Missile, soon the General Crisis of the 17th Century.

@underthenettle I have become attached to eating bread and butter pudding made with berries and jam for Sunday breakfast. It's basically a breakfast food.

@Artemisapphire Fwiw my personal opinion is fake brick/stone always looks fake. I like your colours! Don't ruin it with cheap wallpaper. (In my first rental in London there was an amazing felted wallpaper, that could be a good option). Or maybe you can paper mache the walls 😂😂
