A brilliant speech by @vikramsahney who is raising an issue that matters to the same demographic dividend on whose shoulders the nation’s tomorrow rests. @vikramsahney has always had an apolitical, solutions-centric approach to solving for unemployment. He is a win for India!
Raised the crucial issue of unemployment in the parliament today. IITs and NITs are India's pride, but 38% IIT grads remained unplaced last year, with 65.7 % educated unemployment and 83% of unemployed being youth. IT sector saw a 40% hiring drop & AI threatens 69% of service jobs by 2040. A student spent over 60 lakhs from KG to PG on its education and still remains unemployed. India needs 7.85 million jobs per year till 2030.Industry-Academic linkage is very crucial. It's high time that we work on war footing level to combat the menace of unemployment. While for self-employment as well, there remains a huge gap between start-up and Mudra loan policies on paper and actual on ground delivery. I demand the establishment of the Ministry of Employment Generation and Livelihoods. #Unemployment
