@JPrakashSampath At BPL, we had a micro size team (compared to C-DOT) that made 256 port non-blocking digital switch in 80's / sold many & later upgraded to 2048 port - circuit switched, yes, but 100% local design / development / product to market! Well, all given up in late 90's due to IT boom.

His home's motta mAdi had my 1st encounter with Paul Mauriat :-) (Well, we also listened to salangai oli that day on his new player). PM was big in Japan & Matsushita contracted him for demo music!

@BChidam @nrkrisn @Raaga_Suresh Of course, listened to Bach also for the 1st time thru Paul Mauriat's interpretation only :-) (That is, other than whatever intro done by IR in his film songs). It was part of the classics in the air-3 cassette which is one of my all time favorires!

@nrkrisn @BChidam @Raaga_Suresh When IR says "I was the one who introduced YOU Bach / Beethoven / Mozart" , the "YOU" means TFM audience (which is by and large majority of TN-ers). i.e. It's obvious he's not talking about Dhanraj Master & the likes of such experts in TN but pAmarar like me :-)

@BChidam @Raaga_Suresh "sangeetha kanavugaL" came as series in Kumudam during my college days IIRC (i.e. between 81-85 when he had the EU tour). It had the painting of Bach with IR standing near it with caption "என் நாத தேவன் பாக்" :-) The series also made me recognize Paul Mauriat in late 80's :-)
