@harrietceridwen i have vaginismus & i couldn’t use a tampon until i went through pelvic floor PT last yr (i was 21). & even if I chose not to use tampons after my symptoms subsided, that would still be my choice. ppl r so weird abt other ppls bodies 😭😭

@Confessfem & unlike adult sex offenders, children are shown to be very receptive to treatment (high neuroplasticity at that age.) it’s not helpful to frame this as innate & smth that can’t be addressed through psychological intervention.

@Confessfem kids of all genders lash out aggressively at other children. it’s the adults job to address that child’s behavioral needs & intervene when necessary. nobody’s born evil, but everyone’s born w/o the ability to self-regulate.

@SouthsideTilly @itstuff48 (& clarifying w the second thing that it’s when it’s unnecessary & developmentally inappropriate. wiping a baby?? developmentally normal & necessary. insisting u still wipe an 8 yr old who’s not disabled & could do it themselves?? covert abuse.)

@SouthsideTilly @itstuff48 it’s been shown to have similar effects to overt CSA, but ppl don’t talk abt it as much. i’d argue a lot of dysfunctional same-sex parents engage in these behaviors as some sort of “initiation.”

@winnielark ppl say “oh but it’s a myth CSA causes perpetration”,, yeah, in ADULTS who are supposed to be able to regulate themselves no matter their trauma. but it’s well documented that kids will compulsively reenact their abuse & may develop anger management issues.
