Holy crap! 2 weeks ago I received some terrible, horrible, no good, very bad news from my doctors. Today they just called me to let me know they’ve discussed it and spoken with the experts and have decided they can still do a full stem cell transplant to cure my cancer!! 😭
I had an appointment yesterday with my stem cell transplant doctor. It did not go as I had hoped, things are far worse than we initially thought, and I have been so numb / depressed all day my body feels like it is shutting down. Any sense of optimism is now gone. 💔😭

I have a donor!!! I'm utterly elated to share that I've received some incredible news from my physician today. A remarkable individual has been selected and agreed to be the donor for my upcoming bone marrow transplant on October 12th.

Today marks 💯 days since my bone marrow transplant! I am fully engrafted now, 100% donor, and no genetic mutations or dysplasia was found in my marrow last week! Most of the major risks are behind me, and while I am not entirely in the clear yet, this is a huge milestone! 🥳😊
This morning brought a slight delay and a bit of a scare, but we've now set the wheels in motion for the transplant. I can't begin to express how profoundly grateful and overjoyed I am. Tears of relief flowed as those life-saving cells made their way in.

Today is 6 months since my bone marrow transplant! 🥳 Thankfully, all my blood counts have normalized, I’ve had no major complications, and I’m feeling good overall. I’m so fortunate to have such a great medical team, friends, and family supporting me through this endeavor! 🙏🏻

Ecstatic news! As part of the prep for my transplant, I underwent some genetic testing to ensure we can safely wipe out my bone marrow. I'm overjoyed to share that the results came back completely negative! This means that we are a go for a curative transplant this fall! 🥹🥳

Today marks halfway through my first 100 days post-transplant when I am my most vulnerable and immunocompromised. I am immensely grateful my recovery has gone well so far, and hoping I continue to get healthier and stronger for the remainder of these 100 days and beyond ☺️

I got the long-awaited update today. I have a type of blood cancer called MDS (Myelodysplastic syndromes). The doctors are still working to find out what type. This is very rare for someone my age and health, so there are lots of questions that still need to be answered.

So the ultrasound showed I have multiple blood clots and my doctor was very concerned so I’m now being admitted to the ER for an injectable anticoagulant and CT scans. Scared shitless right now. This shouldn’t happen to someone my age and overall general health.

Got emotional this afternoon because I have doctors appointments Monday and was going to receive blood then, but I can tell my numbers have fallen too much and my doctor wants me to come in tomorrow morning for blood instead. Feels awful to be so close yet not make it to Monday.

Quick update before I pass out. They’re keeping me here overnight. Currently receiving Heparin and a blood transfusion. Turns out I’m severely anemic and there’s a non-zero probability of Leukemia. I’m terrified but so glad I decided to come get a simple calf cramp checked out.
