No, we do not have a choice between candidates. We can only choose to remove a judge. This is VERY rarely successful due to incumbent privilege. If the people really had a say, we would be able to choose between candidates, candidates would campaign and we could vet their promises, etc. Lifetime appointments by governor is NOT a true choice of the people.
