Got in my first varsity game today! Caught the 6th & 7th inning. Got one AB. Solid single to the right. Went in to the 7th inning down 4-1. Ended up winning 5-4. Glad I could contribute.

Fall Season has come to an End. We finished the season 11-4. Hitting, I was seeing the ball, but kept hitting it right at people. .200 BA with 80% Contact Percentage. I caught 32 innings with just 3 passed balls and only allowed 10 stolen bases.

Great Weekend! Went 3-0 at JCCC. Played 2B the first game and Caught in game 2 and part of game 3. Made good contact every at bat, but there always seemed to be a defender waiting for it on the other end.

Not sure if everyone knows, but I play on the Midland Monarchs. A High School level baseball team. What makes it so special is, I am only in 8th Grade. Last night we won the End of Season KCICI Tournament!!

Summer 2023 is done. Finished with a .242 after a slow start. I was starting catcher for all but 1 game. 164.1 innings with 137 POs, 17 Caught Stealing and 7 errors.

Not a bad day today. Unfortunately, no video. I went 2 for 6 in the double header, and two of the outs were great hits, but right to a defender. Spent Game 1 behind the plate (no Passed Balls or Wild Pitches got by me, and 1 Caught Stealing) and DH for Game 2.

What a day!! Our other catcher was down with injury, so I caught EVERY inning. Went undefeated through the entire tournament until the championship game and just ran out of gas (myself included). Still a great day at the ballpark and came home with hardware! Pics Tomorrow!

I see plenty of passed balls and wild pitches from catchers in a regular or secondary stances as well. But it's the OKD catcher's stance that is the problem. Not the crappy pitch.

Forgot to post this the other night. Monday after practice I got to catch Mason Davenport. A 6’9” HS Sr that was doing some bullpen work. He was throwing at 75% and it was still harder than anyone else I have ever caught. It was amazing!

I'm a HS Catcher and I use OKD when there is no one on base and a Passed Ball or Wild Pitch are just a ball. When there are runners on base, I go to the traditional secondary. So if my pitchers are doing their job, I don't put two extra years of wear on my knees every game.
