Very sweet post. What actually happened is that these guys followed the police, used them as protection, called a woman the n word, beat up a kid the police had already knocked over, and then followed a known local white nationalist organizer who led them to get the flag back up

This is nice but the machinations of aid for "low income" students at a place like duke are parlor tricks. They don't fundamentally change who has access to the institution in the first place. The school is already free for actually poor people, they just don't accept any.
Any undergraduate student from North Carolina and South Carolina admitted to Duke whose household income is $150,000 or less will not have to pay tuition.
