Sometimes psychology forgets how much poverty and by extension capitalism affects us mentally and emotionally Especially now more than ever, no matter how much you try to do individual work, your environment and society will still affect you

The EU decision to allow employers to ban hijabs There’s no other reason for this to happen apart from blatant islamphobia, especially with the layer of misogyny It amazes me how instead to deal with the bigot, Muslim women are being scapegoated and stripped of their autonomy

What scares me is that they are professionals in the psychology field who essentially refuse to do their role because they don’t believe that racism/sexism/xenophobia and other forms of discrimination doesn’t have a impact on someone’s mental AND physical health

Been talking to my friends about salary and honestly makes me realise how low paid assistant psychologist are and for the first time I am genuinely thinking of leaving the entire field for a while cause I can’t afford the luxury of being an AP and also trying to save 4 my future

It’s really interesting seeing new psychology training/courses coming out that are outside of DClinPsy Just saw a new one pop up which will take 3 years and you actually can apply if you have a 2:2 and still a chance if you didn’t I wonder how this will pan out in 5 years

Despite being able to to go to university and get two degrees and be even luckier to bag two AP roles More than ever I feel more aware of how classist psychology is. How it always been middle class and seeing more people from different backgrounds get a spot in training
