“Before our white brothers came to civilize us we had no jails…we had no locks or keys, and so we had no thieves. If a man was so poor that he had no horse, tipi or blanket, someone gave him these things. cont.
Health does not always come from medicine. Most of the time it comes from peace of mind, peace in the heart, peace in the soul. It comes from laughter and love.

“The Native American has been generally despised by his white conquerors for his poverty and simplicity.
They forget, perhaps, that his religion forbade the accumulation of wealth and the enjoyment of luxury...
Furthermore, it was the rule of his life to share the fruits

I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently . It's called 'Dignity' and was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation.

A Prayer for all the relatives we lost this winter season:
“Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
… cont’d.
I am poor & naked, but I am the chief of the nation.
We don’t want riches but we do want to train our children right.
Riches would do us no good. We couldn’t take them with us to the other world. We don’t want riches. We want peace & love.
~ Chief Red Cloud, my mat Gx5 grandpa
“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard.
Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness.
Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.”

"Negative thoughts were treated by Cherokee healers with the same medicines as wounds, headaches, or physical illness.
It was believed that unchecked negative thoughts can permeate the being and manifest themselves in negative actions."

Good morning 😍✅
In my life,
I have lived,
I have loved,
I have lost,
I have missed,
I have hurt,
I have trusted,
I have made mistakes,
but most of all,
I have learned.

If you let them into your life and allow them to teach you, you will be better for it.”

“Nothing in nature lives for itself.
Rivers don't drink their own water.
Trees don't eat their own fruit.
Sun doesn't give heat for itself.
Flowers don't spread fragrance for themselves.
Living for others is the rule of nature. And therein lies the secret of living.”
