In an attempt to express politically Black Americans are used yet again as platform for groups of the African diaspora. The narration of this clip attempts to retroactively recontextualize Black Americans in New Orleans into Caribbeans/Africans existing within an American context. Going as far to imply that Americas biggest export is African/Caribbean culture. These diasporic conversations have no specificity as it relates to how they engage with Black American identity. The narration of this clip presents an inappropriate inaccurate relation between the USA, Black Americans, and the African diaspora.

Dear New Orleans, In collaboration with ESSENCE and Edward Buckles, the “Dear New Orleans” film honors the spirit of Black New Orleans, giving the city its flowers while celebrating those who keep its traditions alive. This is more than a tribute; Dear New Orleans celebrates a culture that continues to thrive. From the city’s beauty and resilience to its culture, traditions, and people, it’s a heartfelt celebration of the people and traditions that make New Orleans one of a kind. Watch Dear New Orleans on the ESSENCE YouTube page.

These people are constantly attempting to recontextualize Black American groups into groups removed of our context. This is unhinged.

@CNviolations @CommunityNotes According to the site used in your note, @Essence is correct. There is also nothing about ethnogenesis nor ethnocide in the sources in the community notes. Ethnogenesis is by itself a eugenics term that holds no value to the melting pot of the USA. It appears community notes community has a dimwit. Please fact check the source you used and you will see it says New Orleans is a creolized community of the descendants of African Native French Spanish and Caribbean people and their culture. Which makes it different from the broader Black American community.

This is still disingenuous. To contextualize “building” in Africa, when in actuality personal economic growth is the motive is inappropriate. What is still not being addressed by Black Americans who promote these “back to Africa” trips/investments are the words of the people. Indigenous Africans (actual Africans) regularly contextualize Black American investments as American investments (predatory). They call these plans/opportunities for economic growth, colonization. Y’all are always responding to Black American discourse but silent when actual Africans call your plans colonization…..why?

This makes no sense. An ability to thrive in heteronormative spaces in relation being outcasted is not possible. Specifically because they are positioned (socially) above those who lack the requirements for acceptance. And to seek those environments that yield violence towards lgbt communities provides very good reason for lgbt people to seek distance from men like him.

Seeing those posts of people using AI to voice swap the voice of Beyoncé with that of popular white country singers for the Cowboy Carter album….. People are literally enjoying it because they don’t know it’s Beyoncés album. Y’all are just anti-Black. 🫠
