Using the same ESP32, I was able to decode the RF signal from my fan remotes combined with an RF transmitter. Telling Siri to turn them on and off feels so much nicer
Yes that is a chopped up coax cable I stripped and soldered to the transmitter for better range haha. It works!

You can replace Scene3D with ARScene3D to bring your 3D objects into AR! Realistic lighting, plane tracking etc is all handled automatically behind the scenes. Here I made a simple weather widget.

interesting update: the supercut beta has been re-approved!!
i added a small step where you have to click "netflix" explicitly before using the app on the first launch, but other than that, all previous features are available.

it’s an embedded webview, but has a native navigation style, profile selector, playback controls etc. also doing some js and css injections to make things look more in line with other visionos apps (like the glass background).

It was inspired by SwiftUIs declarative syntax that makes it easy to create and reuse views. Swift3D deals in objects rather than views. It wraps around SceneKit and uses Swift features to provide the same syntax as SwiftUI.

it really REALLY annoyed me how UIHostingController caught all touches, when the background was clear and there wasn’t any SwiftUI views there. so I made a quick package to fix it:

unfortunately it only supports 1080p right now because.. netflix.. and drm (fuck drm). i have some ideas to potentially bypass this with a mac app though. dolby vision and atmos works though!

ever since iOS 16 ButtonStyle.configuration.isPressed has been broken. no response to any feedback and it’s seriously interrupting the ability for me to make responsive interfaces. it looks small but makes a massive difference when actually using it! look at the difference:

last week. Our AIs can now see 👀. I started building it as a little experiment but I’m really happy with how it ended up turning out. And processing of images is all on device!

Supercut is possible because of how easy it is to integrate a WebKit view that supports full FairPlay 2 DRM into an application. Something like this is actually impossible with Quest APIs. Not to mention how easy it was having a real UI framework (SwiftUI & UIKit) to build the

So just an update, Supercut, my Netflix app for Vision Pro has been “In Review” for over a week now. I’ve emailed Apple two times, submitted for expedited app review, and still haven’t heard anything. I really don’t know what else I can do at this point.

Modifiers are also here and just as easy to use. I tried to make the entire playground very user friendly and I used Swift Playground features to help walk the user through the features of Swift3D.

Implemented the LPC algorithm in Swift. By moving more of the pipeline on-device, we were able to significantly reduce the Hyper AI processing time. Now it’s open source & free for anyone to check out

it’s been over 2 weeks in review. apple is clearly just delaying it as long as they possibly can. removed the TF limit since it’s going to be a real battle to get on the store.

also uploaded a build today adding metadata, and controls to skip intro/recap or go to next episode, so you never have to leave the player

Objects can be stacked together using the Stack object. It uses resultBuilder to take many objects then put them into an array. The array of objects is rendered into a single SCNNode when it is displayed on the screen.

I’ve been having fun experimenting with this dynamic-island-like, blobby, liquid sort of effect. It’s quite easy to do in SwiftUI. Considering creating a library to simplify it even further if i get some time 🤔

Videos can stream up to 4K, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Vision with the right subscription plans. Supercut is the only way to get multichannel audio on Netflix on Vision Pro. Videos also stream at a much higher resolution than on the Prime Video iPad app.
