Many women face physiological changes without access to prevention, early detection, and credible, evidence-based care – particularly in the primary health setting where there is no publicly funded physiotherapy for women’s health concerns - making affordability a barrier.

It was great meeting up with @JulienneLocke and Peter Locke today from Rehab Health and Fitness, a family-run physiotherapy practice navigating various funding streams. They advocate for streamlined funding that better assists physio practices and their patients.@apaphysio

I recently caught up Assoc. Prof. Mick Reynolds from ACU, to congratulate him on his new role as Chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Council. The APA looks forward to working with the APC to ensure Australia continues to have the safest and most ethical physiotherapists.

I really valued the opportunity to present to 4th-year physiotherapy students at Western Sydney University today and discuss how the APA can support the healthcare system by advocating for reforms that enable physiotherapists to work at the top of their scope.

New data from the @WorldPhysio census highlights key trends. Education is the top advocacy priority but only 39% of countries have direct access to physiotherapy. More work is needed to integrate physiotherapy into primary and acute care.
