A bit late posting this, apologies. Herewith, the third episode of Sport & Pastime, the weekly podcast where @faisalshariff and I chat, in this edition, of the magic of Bumrah, the perfect-10 performance of the women's U-19 team at the World Cup, and the return of spot-fixing and cricket corruption to the headlines:

Episode 2 of Sport and Pastime, from @faisalshariff and me, packs in a lot: The ongoing T20s, the Ranji trophy farce, the BCCI's pettiness. Agree? Disagree? Have questions? Post in the comments under the video, and we'll respond.

Conflict of interest, anyone? π
ICC Chairman Jay Shah is reportedly in talks with England & Australia on a two-tier World Test Championship structure. Is cricket's future being shaped for all nations or just the economic powerhouses? @prempanicker explains:

A piece I wrote on the endemic faultlines in Indian cricket π

Not to dump on Rohit for a collective failure, but did he just say "bas do ya teen innings kharab hue"?! The team only played four innings, dude.
@hypocrisySeema The captain was talking of a fightback just now - but the bare fact is, NZ didn't even need that first innings lead. India fell 10 short of the Kiwi second innings total, and yeah, spun out both times.

@Inspector_raj @cfc12 LOL yeah, don't need three guesses. PS: Bird's eye view is from the top, not squatting down, but who looks for sense from that lot?

@JoshiDeepan That said, I thought the Kiwis did a good job of keeping one end bottled up while Santner was doing his stuff at the other. Release pressure at one end and pretty soon even your wicket-taking bowler will be under pressure

@cfc12 Yeah, this was one of those rare moments I had the sound on. Cue to rapidly turn it off again

@cfc12 We are like that only. At some point yesterday, I remember a Kiwi batter playing a lovely paddle. Lovely, because the fielding team had set the field for it -- the batter delayed the stroke to play it impossibly fine. Commentary?: "Great effort by Gill at fine leg" I mean...
