The thing is that yes the taxes are high but so are the services they get. They have a great social security system that takes care of everyone including those who are unemployed and those who have retired. School is free. Healthcare works. Look at their infrastructure.

Issue I have is that we only want to save the brilliant kids. We never want to save the ones who didn't do well. Most of them sabotaged by a system that rewards students good at cramming or who pick up concepts easily. Until we care about those kids we will not move as a country
Is there a way we can contribute for these brilliant kids that passed their KCPE but are unable to join high school due to lack of fees? The system revolves around using one kid for some bonga point while the situation is still the same for thousands more. Can we contribute?

Women in Kenya could open a bank account but it wasn't until the 1990s that a woman could get a mortgage & even then it was resisted. Only a few women got it. Women who worked for the government weren't paid house allowance if they were married.

I was talking to a friend who lives somewhere in Machakos. Their church opened its doors to people who became homeless because of the rains. They also offered to store people's things. This is the right and best Christian thing to do. The church is there to serve the community.

Being childfree does NOT absorb you of responsibility for children. If you want to live where people are well-mannered, educated, safe, generous, with low crime, then you have to help care for kids. That can be through taxes or voting or being a fun aunt, but you have to help.
