We have received a couple reports of discolored water in the vicinity of the NE Portland fire. It is natural to have discolored water in homes near the fire due to the increased water pressure used to send more water to the area for fire suppression. (Cont.)

Not if, but when. Our region is at risk for an earthquake. The current pipes that carry water across the Willamette will probably not work after a major earthquake. The new Willamette River Crossing is critical in making sure we get water across the river after an earthquake.

Work to restore Mt. Tabor Reservoir 6 kicks off today! In 2021, crews discovered voids that posed a structural risk to the dam. But with a few repairs, the historical structure will be once again filled with water!

Discolored water has been reported in the Cully area. Discoloration is due to fire response at NE 75th/Killingsworth, which has inadvertently stirred a harmless sediment. Discolored water should clear up a few hours but is dependent on the fire activity:

Prevent water damage to your house/business—find your emergency shutoff valve! Most shutoff valves are located where the water line enters the house, either at the front of your house where you connect your hose, in the basement near the hot water heater, or inside the garage.
