'Rather than fund the training of activists some less than a decade out of nappies, the UK government would do well to redirect its £750,000 grant elsewhere.'

Just asked a lady on the train if she had kids (she smiled at my baby). She said “I’m pregnant with twins”
After chatting it turns out she isn’t pregnant but froze her eggs & her surrogate in Iran is pregnant with triplets & having a “reduction” tomorrow to make it twins
WHAT?!
Got lost on my way to Latin Mass.
Google maps not working, I saw a guy in tweed and decided to follow him.
Followed him all the way to church. Big thanks to all the Trads for being so predictable!
A man on the train asked my religion and I said Catholic. He then proceeded to loudly state why he thinks the Catholic teaching on Mary, baptism, and confession is wrong, and that I should become a born again Christian. He ended by saying I was cute and needed a boyfriend. 🙄🤦🏻♀️
A year ago today, on the Feast of the Annunciation, my friends Mary and Joseph got married, and now they’re days away from expecting their first child which they plan to name Emmanuelle 🥺🥺
Two weeks until I fly to New York to begin my new role as an attaché for the Holy See Mission to the UN. It seems America couldn’t keep me away for long!
Some parents with children joining primary schools this Autumn might be surprised at just how much religion is peddled in schools. ALL schools are meant to have daily *worship* and a third of primaries are faith schools - that means prayers in the classroom, bible stories taught
Harvard has said that our virtual graduation will be an occasion filled with “tears” and “a lot of sentimental moments” as though that were a good thing and not an affront to my British sensibilities
I’ve so much respect for Damian Thompson being such an ardent promoter of this petition. He doesn’t attend the TLM and doesn’t sympathise with some traddy quirks, but is so vocal on this issue anyways. Deo gratias!
A silly tweet for many reasons, but this line of reasoning is flawed as it supposes the schools are there to serve the state, rather than parents. If parents want their children raised in a faith they should be free to do so. That’s not indoctrination.
We should get rid of ‘faith schools’ entirely in the UK. Publicly funded education should be secular. The last thing our education system needs is religious silos which might incubate radicalism and indoctrinate young minds.
I am not a smoker (as is evident here) but nothing makes me want to be one more than Labour’s nanny state policies (not that the Conservatives were much better 🫠)
I don’t even like smoking - much to my amazement as I’ve had hundreds of drunken ones over the years to and look French - but I will force myself if that’s what La Résistance needs!
Me: "I'm currently reading a book by Roger Scruton. I think I've mentioned him before, he's an English philosopher"
Friend: "Is this your man crush guy?"
Me: ...
Friday night I went to an event with 25 people. Yesterday I met a friend for dinner. This morning people sang at church, I went out for brunch, and I’m now browsing a book store. To think people in England can’t enjoy these things for weeks to come astonishes me.
Remembered to remove the cardboard cutout of Jacob Rees-Mogg from the living room in the nick of time before a nice normal person comes for a flat viewing
Passed my US driving test, which basically means I’m thoroughly ill-prepared for returning to the UK and driving on any road that isn’t incredibly wide and straight and free from tractors (i.e. most roads)
Transgender man lies in a hospital bed as his newborn baby is handed to him after he paid a surrogate to have a baby for him.
Do you agree or disagree with surrogacy?
The fact doctors prescribe hormonal birth control for things other than preventing pregnancy, should face far greater scrutiny. If a man goes to the doctor with headaches, acne, or mood swings, he’ll be treated differently for each. Women get fobbed off with the pill for all
Called the parish priest to query how it was possible for him to advertise a Vigil Mass for 10am, and whether I'd be fulfilling my Wednesday obligation by going at 10am on the Tuesday. Got fobbed off with “There are pastoral concerns that mean canon law can’t always be followed.”
Childcare costs are a barrier to parents getting on in their careers.
To change that, we announced the biggest ever expansion of childcare: extending 30 free hours to all working parents from 9 months.
We have a plan to deliver a brighter future for families across the country.
Thinking about when I first started being a lector at church and my grandma said it would look good on the CV (apparently this is what Oxbridge would be after).
Now, more than a decade later, she’s been affirmed as my old parish priest endorsed me for public speaking on LinkedIn
Traditional Latin Mass chaplaincy summer fête featuring “Pin the Biretta on Fr Henry” and “Washing Line Game”, which entailed pegging clothes on the line while carrying a baby

As if spending a couple of weeks at home until I move to London isn’t enough to send me back to feeling like a child, my grandma has installed a nightlight in my bedroom 🙃🙃
Yes, the law does need reform.
This poor woman has been jailed after using abortion pills BPAS sent her through the post, despite the fact her very taking of those pills would be illegal.
Changes to abortion laws should start by preventing such reckless actions of BPAS.
Today, a mother-of-three has been jailed for 28 months after using abortion pills to end her own pregnancy.
No woman can ever go through this again.
We need abortion law reform in Great Britain NOW.

An intern ordered too many flowers for his girlfriend (?!) and shared out the extras and now all the women are v happy and my office bookcase looks a little less empty
Having been to three Anglican carol services this week, I really wish Catholic parishes stepped up their Advent programming. Amazing how many people will go to a service if followed by free mince pies/mulled wine and feels remotely Christmassy
