The newly-renovated National Stadium Karachi is set to be inaugurated tomorrow evening with a colourful ceremony featuring fireworks and a spectacular light show, while entry for the public will be free. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, in a statement, said that the stadium’s reconstruction, which began on September 28, 2024, and was completed on January 31, 2025.

Saudi fast-food giant Albaik has decided to start operations in Pakistan and is expected to open outlets in major cities, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said in Jeddah on Saturday. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has expressed the desire to work for more robust relations between Pakistan and United Kingdom (UK), state-owned Radio Pakistan reported. According the report, the finance minister engaged with the British Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan Hamish Falconer in Portugal. Furthermore, the two sides dicussed “matters of mutual interest including investment opportunities in Pakistan in energy, minerals, and infrastructure sectors”. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that the country’s economy was set to take off following a year of efforts by the government’s economic team to restore stability. Pakistan's overall budget has turned from a surplus into a deficit of Rs1.54 trillion, amounting to 1.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP), with a statistical discrepancy of Rs0.43 trillion, The News reported on Saturday. Pakistan has made a significant leap in deep space exploration with the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) and the China National Space Administration (CNSA), according to an official statement issued on Thursday. The agreement was signed on February 5th, 2025 in the presence of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and President of China, Xi Jinping. The MoU paves the way for Pakistan's first indigenous lunar rover to be part of China's Chang'e-8 mission, set for launch in 2028.

An anti-corruption court in Lahore on Thursday acquitted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
