Exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Associate in Biogeochemistry to work on my ERC REFRESH Advanced Grant. This is a 4.5 yr role, exploring the metabolic pathways controlling nutrient and dissolved organic matter uptake in freshwater ecosystems.

Check out the online version of my accepted paper in Inland Waters on 12/11/24. The research was conducted during my DPhil. I discuss how chemicals from aquatic plants can control blue-green algae, and the potential role of microscopic helpers.

We even had enough daylight left to download the Hobo light and temp sensor data too! Next time after our 96 hr sampling we add our snails to the jars. It wasn't misty today ....my phone camera went for a swim yesterday and is a still tad damp.
Practice takes us closer to perfection! We’ve reduced our moss, biofilm & gases sampling procedure from over 3 h on Friday to 1 h 10 min. Today a brighter day for our jars too. @pj13302 @AnaCastroCaste & @EnnsSydney5474

Warmed up at the excellent local pub, between 1.5 and 6 hr sampling. Great teamwork between the three of us and a very inquisitive rat....just hoping it doesn't try to feast on the cables that run the pumps.
