Always Pitt basketball. Frequently burner nonsense. Occasional law talk. Don’t hold me to any of this.

@TJAltimore @IntoPitt I also think that at most schools, it will become a much tougher sell to spend more on athletics in what will be pretty much a university-wide austerity environment. Wouldn’t want to be the AD asking for more money while the administration is trying to plug a $180M hole.

@TJAltimore It’s probably a combination of direct grants to Pitt, plus grants to the interwoven UPMC hospital network. Not really sure how they all tie together on paper.

@BigGamePanther @_H2P_ @steelcitytim412 Jason’s players have been the only ones who have actually gotten better. Champ, Gueye, Blake, and now Austin. Even Guillermo playing out of position has gotten more comfortable at the 4 as the year has progressed. No other assistant on the staff has that kind of track record.

@TalkinACCSports The House payment + the NIH thing potentially stripping $180M out of the university budget means Pitt is not gonna have much of an appetite to pay a buyout.

If Pitt basketball was an NBA team, there is no way that Capel and this staff would be back. This roster has talent, and it’s been totally wasted. No NBA owner or GM would put up with a season like this, given the preseason expectations. @AGreeneIV

@steelcitytim412 It’s gonna be Lowe, Corhen, and three guys out of the portal, and we’re going to hate every second of it.

@ADavidHaleJoint @aadelsonESPN @accnetwork David, are these episodes available on demand anywhere? Not seeing them on the ESPN app.

@Genetics56 Do you wake up in the morning thinking of ways to damage the sport more? Or do those thoughts tend to not emerge until you’ve had coffee?

@TalkisPitt85 @neverlosebets Talent is not this team’s problem. They’ve got enough talent to be a whole lot better than this.

@steelcitytim412 This team, more than anything else, needed Jaland to be good. He’s been arguably their worst rotation player in ACC play, and very few teams can survive their point guard being maybe their worst player.

@mckenzielaw Either way, it certainly doesn’t feel like a case that’s taken, like, 3000 billable hours. Even if every single one of them is from a $1k+ an hour partner. It’s wild. I’ll be curious to see what the ACC’s overall legal spend has been when the tax disclosures come out.
