In EVM, the application code and state are combined into a single contract that is deployed on-chain.
In Solana, application code and state are separate. Programs can read/write state according to rules determined by the transaction.

In Ethereum, accounts are usually EOAs (private-key bearing addresses, like a Ledger) or smart contracts.

One of the reasons I started looking at Solana: its composability and atomicity in tx layer (with instructions) - you get rid of that nasty “unlimited approval” that most DeFi apps do on EVM chains 🤮.
Solana solves this with better UX and less risk for the user

Are Serum PDAs generated the same way as other Solana PDAs? I've noticed a few differences:
- Serum PDAs use a u64 nonce instead of u8 nonce

Totally agree, most of the solana programs out there don’t use fancy data structures or use any particular algorithms.Most smart contract code in general is more complicated from a math standpoint rather than a logic standpoint
