On my way to being the king of eyewash
As an intern, I realized I stopped believing in myself. I decided to believe in myself and decided that last Friday, I was going to hit 95 for the first time in 3 years
I fell short
So, let's look into why and what fatal attraction is

Pelvic rotation is complex and simple at the same time.
We discuss the importance of opening the pelvis before the foot plant all the time. Because we need it to get open (for the most part), but how does it? Because it’s not what you think.
With the simple idea of pelvis
Men’s league debut final stat line:
5ip 12 k’s 0bb 1 hit 0 R
Touched 90, probably didn’t help I threw live 2 days before but live and learn
Time to throw 100 innings and work back up to 95, and go get a state chip
Simply put if you’re not sitting 93-95 as a RHP you’re not getting drafted, or signed.
There’s RARE exceptions of course, but hat’s usually guys who played at highest level along with other ELITE qualities
If you wanna play pro ball, sit 93-95
🔥You can tell me velocity over fastball command and you’ll never convince me. I love velocity, but its everywhere now.
You can train for extra ticks of velocity, but you’re an outlier if you have + command.
Coaches are counting outs, not velocity. Outs get you your next start
Some truth about hard work
It doesn’t matter…it’s the bare minimum requirement. It’s not a separator.
What matters is being smarter. Being better. Better sleep, lifting, throwing ect.
So stop trying to succeed on hard work alone. It’s not gonna get you to where you want

Some guys might not have thrown yet. Some guys might have thrown and struggled.
It’s a long season.
There’s been a multitude of times in my career where I let early struggles lead to anxiety and poor performance down the road.

Do you want to throw fuzz?
Outside of consistently throwing hard, you should be able to:
Produce Force
Produce Force Fast
Absorb Force
Make sure your training reflects that

Things we know impact risk:
Lack of sleep
Poor on ramp
Poor workload management
Poor diet (sometimes)
Hell. Even that above is hit or miss.

@FlatgroundApp
I really think there’s one way to throw as hard as possible
IMO there’s different ways to throw hard because there’s lots of pieces involved and with a high enough ceiling you can ride one piece
But currently I think there’s one way to use all of them as efficiently as possible
Since this popped up on my feed AGAIN…this is not evidence
Does AA timing matter? Yes. Does it protect you from injury? No.
ALSO, maybe he got “drivelined” because it’s been 10 years, he went from ~30 years old to 41, and tissue degradation is a thing and the body has to
By way of comparison, and to see Spencer Strider's issues, let's look at one of my favorites clips of in his prime, just won the MVP & Cy Young, pre-DRIVELINE'd Justin Verlander as of ST 2012.
See how Justin Verlander's pitching arm gets UP before his shoulders start to turn?

it’s going to look different, and can sometimes be confusing.
So, here’s a few tips ⬇️
Side bend + curved spine = Pelvis Rotation
Aka, spinal engine theory
While I think it’s easy to lose sight of the entire picture with it, there is no doubt that loading the spine is one of the most critical pieces to throwing fuel.
Not to mention, side bending is one of the
A hill I’m ready to die on
If you’re going into (you’re done with high school) a D1/elite D2, legion is probably a waste of time.

I’ll never forget this.
This winter I got to talk to someone who through 100mph.
When I asked what he felt like he said “my whole body hurt. It doesn’t feel good”
A reminder that throwing is natural. Throwing 100 is inherently risky
But its a risk worth taking
Day 1
After a small break, we are back throwing building up and will hit 95 soon.
Every day, I will post what the journey looks like. It might not be perfectly linear and “I threw this day and then again this day,” but it will be my training every day.
The first step is
What makes good vs bad pitcher?
Good pitchers can throw any pitch at anytime with complete trust
Bad pitchers need all the conditions to be write and tend to rely on their fastball to much
In this 6 pitch AB I threw ONE heater? Why?
It’s not my best pitch even at 91
A reminder with Striders injury:
We simply do not know the reason!
If someone on this app says it’s “xyz…arm action…timing…hinge…preferences” ect, they don’t know that!
CORRELATION ≠ CAUSATION
the larger the claim, the larger the burden of proof is!

The purpose of post throw arm care is not to strengthen the shoulder but just get blood flow
While this is fine it’s still stress that compounds, and the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze imo
Arm care should meet or exceed the demands of the throw. Prepping the shoulder for
We have reached the point where unless you're sitting 93+ with elite movement qualities, really anybody can hit a heater
This doesn’t mean you don’t use your fastball; it just means you use it less!

I struggled with maintaining a healthy weight for years.
Gain, lose, gain, lose.
Many athletes on both ends of the spectrum (need to gain and lose) experience this.

Pro day, in season, training everyday…if you wanna play until you’re 40, some how someway you have to be undeniable
You have to be so good that there is no other option. That you warrant having a job over some one else
That’s it, that is the way
So be undeniable
It comes down to what you want.
I wasn’t good enough going into my junior year and topping only 75mph at my first showcase. So, I quit football and started training for baseball. A year later, I hit 88 and got a D1 scholarship.

You don’t need to have elite carry to throw up in the zone!!
However, you probably should have good VAA, and an arsenal that brings the eyes to the bottom of the zone

doing exactly that (still has + run on it)

Telling athletes not to think is the exact same thing as saying “just throw strikes”

Conversation I had with a client last night about goal setting

What your body experiences is all that matters.
Do you think it knows the difference between a 6oz, 5oz, or 4oz baseball? No. It doesn’t.
It knows what’s safe and what’s not safe.
But sometimes, we have to trick the body. Fire it up. Get it excited. Because occasionally, it
Kyle Hendricks is off to a horrendous start.
There are 3 things he needs to do:
1. Throw less FB/SI (55% currently - .525 xWOBA!)
2. Throw more CB to LHH (3% currently)
3. Add a gyro slider
Something has to change quickly.
What do you think?
Full outing from last night 👇🏻
What’s fascinating about humans is we go round and round debating over and over again about generally arbitrary things that, in the grand scheme of things, don’t matter that much.
Will bench make you throw harder? Will it get you hurt? Is it dangerous? Or is it the saving grace?
Doing what ever it takes is really just doing the free/easy things better than everybody else
-sleep better
-track calories
-lift consistently
-throw consistently
