Todays episodes Sanji is just another reminder of how Sanji is not capable of receiving love. He feels unlovable so he flirts endlessly thinking noone will requite it but when someone actually likes him he is clueless.
Its different when it comes to receiving love. Since his mother died he never felt loved. Even when people like Zeff and the strawhats loved him he was not allowing himself to feel loved by them. Its hard to let yourself feel it if you were convinced that you're human trash.
