Jimmy Lai testified his support for Trump & the Republican policies as well as him suggesting the staff not to report against Trump in 2020 as it would contradict his hope & initiative for Trump to stop Beijing from imposing the national secuirty law in Hong Kong back then.

The court ruled and defined in the verdict that: 1. Stand News holds localism as its political ideology 2. Its line-to-take was to support & promote Hong Kong’s local autonomy. 3. It became a tool to smear and vilify HK & Chinese central authorities during the 2019 protests.
