If you’re thinking raising external capital is a possibility then a Delaware c-corp is the smoothest way from the investor side. Will stop lots of questions and extra diligence. Whatever you do, I would avoid going esoteric if you’re thinking of outside capital. Investors like stable business environments with clear legal boundaries to put capital in to. “Weird” locations will put them off. Can occasionally kill deals. But definitely adds overhead.

The same logic that “there is no value in this company without the company getting a permit” is true of all companies. If you extend the logic why shouldn’t the government have a percentage of all companies? That being said this seems like classic Trump negotiation. Start with a ridiculous assertion. Anchor high. Negotiate from there. Just unclear why we’re having a serious conversation about the merits of something so stupid.

@zeeg Yes but rarely use it. Still have it enabled. Two most common use-cases : ad-hoc viewing of SQL queries on current page and inspecting settings in case something didn’t get propagated correctly

@awilkinson I agree. But the conundrum is I also have an example of a question they missed a detail on which could have cost 200k in exit taxes. The 5k spent on a tax specialist saved me the 200k. A lot of it depends on the question and how common the need is.

Satya always comes across as straight talking, well versed with amazing clarity of thought. I’m not a huge Microsoft fan on the tech side but there is very clearly a before-Satya and after-Satya effect in Microsoft and it’s clear to see why.
Such a great episode. Highly information dense. Satya is a generational CEO. Clear vision, great communicator, highly competent, student of history. The way he was able to get into very specific details on a wide variety of topics was amazing.
