@andrewrsorkin @msuster .@andrewrsorkin is 100% right on this. Carried interest is simply the earnings of people putting together funds. It should be taxed as ordinary income. It is not the risk capital of investors (which is taxed at capital gains rates)… it’s the earned income come of fund managers.

Why are y’all debating with this asshat? And also, @andrewrsorkin please quit referring to @JTLonsdale as “the mayor of Austin.” Maybe he’d be ogled at the Proper Hotel… but if he walked into Donn’s Depot he’d be laughed at. Deservedly.
@andrewrsorkin @JTLonsdale seems like management fees are for services, and are not investment returns. also, taxing tips at a lower rate makes sense - but without any tax oversight, abuses will happen.

@Grady_Booch Grady, I fear even the bitcoin grift isn’t the endgame they see. What was worth a quarter billion to Musk was access to data, data nobody else in the world has, or can get. And that data - or at least some big part of it - has now been replicated God knows where. Follow the data.

@Crestron do you guys monitor this channel? Your app is very frustrating because it will not run on a new iPad. It gives an error “can’t log into iTunes” even after discovering that I’ve already paid for the app. This is just one more example of your poor software. Please reply.

My thoughts and takeaways from @PeterAttiaMD ‘s podcast interview with Tadej Pogacar: 1. Tadej’s first Tour win came on the back of low expectations and finding calmness in high pressure situations by being grateful. My perspective is that he has come back to this state intentionally over the years by learning how to control how he interprets the media attention while managing his personal expectations.
