Conqueror had picked up the Tanker and then Belgrano showed. Conqueror then trailed at around four miles. Belgrano was steaming at 13 knots and Conqueror used a sprint and drift tactic; sprint ahead at 18 knots then drift at periscope depth, take a look, then repeat. Meanwhile⬇️

June 18th 1982. HMS Illustrious leaves Swan Hunter for Portsmouth. The ship and her crew would immediately begin a rapid work up to prepare for service in the South Atlantic. Meanwhile, HMS Invincible would stay on and provide air cover until Illustrious relieved her on 28th Aug.

Never forget the contribution from the RAF during Op Corporate. From the start, they were on their way with Hercules, VC10, Nimrods, Victors, Vulcans, Harriers, Wessex, Sea king, Chinooks etc.. Victory would not have happened without the RAF. This comes from an ex Matelot!

Clear misinformation from what was once a widely respected Newspaper. HMS Westminster has not been recently refurbished. On the contrary, she was at the start of a major refit and that has been stopped due to the condition of the ship. HMS Argyll will stay in service until 2028.

If so, then a very sensible move. USMC Lightnings of VMFA 211 deployed from HMS Queen Elizabeth during CSG 21, along with 617 squadron. Both units operated seamlessly together, because they have the same SOP's. The QE Class was also designed from the start to operate the F35B.

I wouldn't bother wasting my time reading such nonsense. CSG 25, and HMS Prince of Wales will take 24 Lightnings, there'll be 48 on strength in a year or so, up to 72 after that (tranche 2) and it's highly likely we will go to the full 138 over the lifetime of the programme.

Good to see HMS Queen Elizabeth on the move. Around to Rosyth now to get fixed. The issue isn't as extensive as what happened to HMS Prince of Wales, and the ship is sailing under her own power.. Personally, I am sick of all the negative comments about these amazing Carriers! ⚓️
