Bins up and the Magnolia Warbler was staring back at me! After the total panic and pictures taken it was a joy to watch it flicking around the bracken! Amazing 🤩
What a stunning bird. Canada Warbler along the road down to Stack Rocks today! The feeling when this popped out of the willows in front of me this morning!😮🤯 I didn't think Magnolia could be beat but...
@PembsBirds
Thanks everyone for the kind messages! So pleased the Magnolia Warbler stuck around at St Govan's Head for people to enjoy it! It's a special bird. Here's two short videos from last night ...
Looking through my photos from Morocco this morning and found this one of the amazing landscape at the edge of the Sahara Desert...then I noticed the Egyptian Nightjar...
This last week here at
@spurnbirdobs
has been incredible. I've never seen so many Pied Flycatchers! And the rarities! Collared Flycatcher, White-winged Black Tern and the Roller! This place is magical🤯
Plus several Icterine Warblers, Red-backed Shrikes and a Barred Warbler!
(1/3) Thank you for the very kind messages (again!). I am still in total shock from last week, these are by far the most incredible experiences I have ever had birding. Canada Warbler personally was a species I really wanted to see when I visited the US🇺🇸 in May this year ...
An amazing few days spent on the edge of the Sahara Desert in Morocco. Watching a displaying Hoopoe-Lark in the evening light rounded it off perfectly. A wonderful bird in a wonderful place 😌
Lots of birds moving overhead at St. Govan's Hd this am!
A real bonus was a juv American Golden Plover which flew south over the headland at 08.47. Came through right over my head, calling constantly! Then watched until it was just a dot out over the sea. Awesome!
@PembsBirds
Still going through my photos from our trip to Spain in May! Really like these few of a close encounter with a male Ortolan Bunting at Sierra de Gredos.
I came home to Pembrokeshire from Chester this weekend anticipating some seawatching after work and ahead of going to my brother's graduation on the weekend. Seawatching at St Govan's this evening was slow going with just a single Arctic Skua...

I dropped into the valley at St Govan's and soon had brief views of a very bright bird! I remained patient (and hopefully) and walked round the side of the scrub to get shelter from the wind. A bird flicking in the bracket caught my attention....
Another nice evening at BMW. 13 juvenile Curlew Sandpipers again on the main scrape, 10 Ruff and best 2 smart juvenile Pectoral Sandpipers from the Border hide! c500 Pink-feet flew over towards the outer Dee marsh at dusk.

This beast of a juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Monkstone Point beach at around 11am this morning. Large numbers of gulls gathered around the coast here today taking advantage of an abundance of marine invertebrates washed up by the stormy seas
@PembsBirds
Lovely day on the north Norfolk coast. Most of our time was spent looking at the sea. Little Auks were the bird of the day! Also a smart flyby Great Northern Diver, Slavonian and Red-necked Grebes, Velvet Scoters and Shorelark the other highlights + lots more. Great birding!
Some nice birds on the
#PWC2023
patch so far through November. Barred Warbler at BMW last weekend became my 150th sp. for the year. A Jack Snipe in the week and Goldeneye today were other new additions.
2 Common Scoter on Shotwick Boating Lake y'day were also a nice record.
25 Twite with Linnets near Flint Castle today. 3 colour-ringed birds seen each with a pink ring over a mental ring on the right leg. Just couldn't get a good view of the left legs as they were so flighty! Anyone know if that's enough detail to link them to a particular project?
Incredible number of gulls at Amroth today. 8 species seen including a 2CY Iceland, 2CY Yellow-legged (thanks for the input everyone), ad Mediterranean Gull, 26 Great BB and 23 Lesser BB. Amongst thousands of Herring and smaller no's of Common and Black-headed Gulls.
@PembsBirds

After only brief views of the Sennen bird in 2019, I achieved my pipit dreams yesterday with superb views of American Buff-bellied Pipit at Maelcombe beach, Devon with

Wiseman's Bridge this afternoon when the rain had finally eased. Conditions not great but a fine Black-throated Diver paddling its way east very close in was quite a surprise! The usual Scoters, Grebes and Mergansers offshore in choppy seas, but no sign of Lt Ducks
@PembsBirds
(2/3) But to find one in my home county of Pembrokeshire was just totally mind blowing🤯🤯 Incredible birds and incredible experiences!
Really pleased so many were able to see these birds and be part of the amazing experiences! Thanks again everyone! ...
Spurred on by events on
@SkokholmIsland
and bored of my lackluster seawatch I attempted to search for American birds. Thinking a wader like a buff-breasted sandpiper on the cliff top grass would be just lovely...
