I lived the successful full-time indie maker dream for 9 years 🤩, then faced failure 😢. Now I'm back to the 9-to-6, rebuilding from the ground up🌱.

My plans for 2025: - Grow @RealFavicon: - From about 200€/month to 1K/month - From 3K+ visits/day to 5K visits/day - Launch a new project. More on this later. What are yours?

@michael_ohakim If their goal is to impress their colleagues, good for them. But if they're looking for more projects... 🤷♂️

@louis_soba As a Vercel user, I can relate. It's frightening. Things start to feel safer when your traffic and revenues are related: a huge bill is supposed to come with high revenues... In theory 😅

@JulienLeg78 In "building in public", "public" is supposed to be your target audience. A fitness coach building in public should make sure to talk to the men in their 40s he wants to coach, not to his peers.

@SeifBassam I have no idea 😅 My best guess is that they didn't. Only the internet creates a "winner takes all" outcome, which is necessary when a solo targets a niche, expecting to make money thanks to a worldwide audience.

@SeifBassam The author of the book above wrote "MasterList" or something similar. In the 80s/90s, sharewares were often edited by solo guys. Even in the early days of micro computing some software was edited by single people. I saw some examples in the book Fire in the Valley.

@ThePeterMick Sad story 😅 I know I sometimes dream of business ideas which sound right during my sleep but I'm like "WTF" when I wake up.

@jontetz @FounderKyle "Engagement farming" 😆I didn't know this one, but it's quite accurate actually!

@fullstackmiguel I live close to Paris, France. While so many people want to live close to a beach in a country with a low cost of living, I don't think I would want to move far away, if at all. Maybe a few kilometers away to be closer to nature.

@JulienLeg78 @lovable_dev I'm very curious to see how the next generation is going to approach coding.
