The Rioja heist. This weekend, as part of our centenary, we sponsored the Goya movie awards, and had 2 special edition large format bottles signed by actors, directors, etc. Later that night they disappeared from the scene. Investigation is underway. Let's hope we find them back!

Interesting presentation today at @unirioja by @vitisnavarra on adapting to climate change by selecting the right plant material. Not only varieties but also clones and rootstocks can have a significant impact on ripening, yields, pH, alcohol levels, etc.

@VICTORACEDOZAMO Si vienes a Prowein, est谩s bienvenido.

@macdudeuk This tasting has too much variation in origin and grape variety (besides vintage and producer) since the goal is to discuss old vineyards across Rioja. However, it would be fun to do something similar with the same variety in a smaller zone to really focus on vineyard age.

@AlgosJoni @lebonvinfr Defo some Syrah giveway clues. The endless finish points to something a bit more premium in N-Rh么ne. No mentions of oak probably excludes C么te-R么tie. Cornas or Hermitage? It's a bit more likely to come accross an older Hermitage (looking at the color) so that would be my guess.

@mapquet2 I think that will be it. I will do the whites by vineyard age, then the reds as you suggest. First 2 Garnacha's (Alto Najarilla and Rioja Oriental), then a field blend from Rioja Alta and then two Tempranillo's from the Sonsierra. 隆Gracias!

@mapquet2 An interesting middle way. The problem is that the elegant Garnacha's (which are often the oldest vineyards) come before the potent Tempranillo's.
